Valuable classes for dungeons.

Hello,

Back when I started in 2012 on PC (I'm now on PS4), the most wanted classes for dungeon groups were GF and DC for the obvious purposes of tank and a healer for the group.

After that there was a trend that LFG channels were spammed constantly with LF CW or GWF (both for the AOE dmg output).
So this switched drastically from tank and healer to AOE DPS only.

In your opinion what are the most wanted classes and most importantly Roles in dungeons these days ?

Regards.
Do keep ever present in your thoughts, my friend, that an illusion can kill you if you believe in it.
And the real thing can kill you whether you believe in it or not.

It's back to tanks and healers again (DC, GF, and OP). They are actually needed for higher level dungeons, and there are about 10 times as many DPS as there are tanks and healers, so it's WAY easier to get groups as support classes.

I dont have a geared OP, but 14k+ CW, DC and GF and more.

I cant log on my DC for more then 5 minutes without pms from random players asking me to join a run and que pops in less then a minute.

It is easy to get a group with my GF. You can find a group in no time and que times are decent.

CW, my main. Near BIS gear. With a DD setup and a MOF rene buff build with a second set of weapons, t. frost etc. BIS groups might want you for the buffs, otherwise you will have to build a group on your own or answer fast to one of the lf dps posts. Que takes some time. Good chances to enter an half abandoned T1 dungeon with undergeared players. No solid option, if you cant solo them.

Chars: CW, DC, GF, GWF, HR and TR.

Made my words yours... DPS is like trash now, no matter where you look, there is plenty of them.....

Tanks and healers are always high on the demand list for every MMO.

Becky had a good comment about this in a different thread.

I'll try to paraphrase, the gist is that recent modules have introduced content that make it harder to maintain alts. Back in the day, many dedicated players had their DPS toon, but also tank / heal alts that they could switch to. But the last 3 mods or so have been very alt-unfriendly and many folks have focused onto a single character. Since these last 3 mods have had daily quests that are more-or-less dps checks, many of those folks chose a dps as that single character.

So there is definitely a surplus of dps characters, and a comparative shortage of support characters. Rolling a tank or healer is a good bet that you'll have an easy time finding groups.

Personal thought: with loadouts, rolling a support class just got a lot better, since you can have a solo-dps loadout to make running dailies less frustrating. DC, OP, and GF all have multiple viable builds including a solo-dps focus that you can use for leveling / soloing.

FWIW, I've managed to keep 4 of 6 characters up-to-date-ish with the content (main DC, alts buff/debuff CW, prot-OP, and dps GWF), but it's noticeably harder than it used to be. Loadouts are the only relief we've gotten in a long time. With loadouts, DC feels like the most versatile.
