Do the Arc gift cards work for zen on the playstation store or do you need to get the playstation store cards??

No, those are for the PC only. You'd want PlayStation Cards. I.E. Add funds to your playstation account then buy Zen from the PS Store. Also, depending on your payment methods in your PS Account, you can have it deduct directly from a Bank Account, Credit Card, or even PayPal.
