Better option for gear appearances

RIght now the main thing I would love to be added to this game is a way of unlocking appearances for armor and weapons. There are a lot of really cool looking pieces of gear that I will never use because I mostly like what I already have. I would love to be able to unlock multiple appearances for a weapon and be able to change the appearance whenever I want. I have gotten weapon transmutes from several different events. The only purpose they serve is the collection points. I am fine with it having a cost beyond needing the item but I want to be able to actually collect the items rather than hoping they are BoA so I can mail them to a character who has its entire inventory devoted to holding these items incase I one day want to change. Give me a reason to collect every appearance.
