Hello everyone.
I used to play NW but I'm back again, looking for a new challenge. It's good to see that the level cap was raised to 70.
I remember that TR's were good damage dealers and a bunch of fun if you knew how to handle them. Now I wonder,
Is this still the case?
I see quite a few people 'complaining' about TR's in general and I am wondering if it is still worthwhile to make one. I was thinking of making an exec build because of the high(er) damage output.
Also is gearing still 'as hard' as it used to be?
Would love to hear from you guys,
Cheers
p.s.
please don't throw all kind of crazy terms at me, consider me a noobie haha

Now with the last nerf on cw's spell storm, a decent tr can out dps a good cw. The lostmauth artufact equipment set is a good choice and good boost in dps as well. There are plenty of unskilled players roaming around LFG these days and I think it has impacted on some people's perceptions of the class. TR is probably not the best option for finding a party easily in LFG, for that i'd suggest GF/OP tank or DC healer
Best of luck.
I have always started a game with a Rogue main... so it is only natural to do the same here. Oddly enough I love playing my GF as well for the opposite reasons that I like playing my TR.
TR's, as scammerza stated, are restricted to 3 or 4 builds that work (perma-stealth, encounters refill stealth MI or Wk Sab and MI Exec). We are no longer DPS only we had to adapt with M6. I do not know many TR's who PvE and don't use Smoke, Path of Blades, Blitz or Daze along with LB.
There are some people who are doing some serious experimentation...
Not always true.
On a single target that isnt moving much and without being forced to dodge any aoes? maybe, but on a group of enemies, or bosses like Valindra which ports right and left + drop aoes in melee range, no way. Sometimes there's so much aoes in melee range that you just cant do any melee attacks. This is very noticel dps lose when you have to stop 3rd strike of DF over and over again, because f.cking dragon decided to channel his fire breath. If you dont stop, you will die to aoe cause of stupid design which causes you to go inside the target.
CW suffer very little penalties and can sustain his dps much easier.
ECC is a good example why you need a TR. Most groups die if they approach a group of monster. A TR can go in stealth smoke bomb the area and then all other player can attack without a risk to die. Dazing strike helps with remaining groups of monster.
In the example of Valindra or any other bigger monsters you can use wicked reminder and boost the damage of your group by 21%. So i would not say the TR is a useless class, he deals valid damage and has some cool abilities.
Smoke bomb isnt even needed tbh, cause CW's can just perma freeze the mobs and aoe them them. I didnt said that TR is totaly useless, but it's definitely harder to do similar due to class and encounters design.

Gwf, Hr and Sw are beter aoe dps, but tr is a great unitarget dps and acceptable controller.
Another advantage is that it does not generate agro.
Could probably work in your case because you're a Sabo now morenthar. With a Scoundrel build here, I'm probably as optimized as I can get... can't function without Dazing Strike...
If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'

in a pve set up there should be plently of space for wicked remider
smokebomb, dazing strike and what else?
