I would love if they did something similar to how they convert marks to dilithium. A Daily x10 would be an amazing finger saver... not to mention it'll counter the boredom that sets in when you're doing menus for 10+ minutes. I wouldn't even mind if it meant it took an extra day.
First off there's obviously the missing gear of the older reps - Warp cores, secondary deflectors, experimental weapons On top of that:- Vanity shields/engines/deflector - For when you want the effect, but don't want to spend huge amounts of dilithium and marks. Costume unlocks Cruiser command ability consoles - Since…
NPC damage does seem to scale rather highly from level 61-65. I believe the devs mentioned it on a livestream that they were using the level cap increase to re-adjust NPCs. I fought a lvl 65 mogai in carraya on elite. Unprepared the thing easily ripped me to shreds with 50k and 90k torp strikes. Switched to a tank build on…
Nah, not let down. I expected it to be something pretty much like the AoY expansion. To be honest this one is looking to be slightly superior, since all AoY offered was a Fed toon with a few more exclusive missions and a boatload of c-store ships, half of them for lower levels.
This is what you get when you have a game with bonkers powercreep. People doing such hilariously high damage that it causes people to get an AFK even when they're trying hard.
I didn't even realize you could sell provisions, I just stopped doing sims because I got bored. No one wants to grind the same 30 minute content for months on end. I think people forget that there aren't/weren't many active players. Before season 14.5 hit, even the ISA queue was taking a while to pop.
Pretty much this. More gear or incentives isn't going to solve the problem. It may be a short term fix, but that's all it'll be. We've got a very small active user base and almost 100 queues. The rest of the playerbase either RP or spend all the time in zone chat talking about everything but STO.
This will not work. People will PvP once for a one off reward (like the endeavour) and be done with it. You can't even get people to queue for the competitive PvE maps anymore. The game is virtually dead. Queues are virtually dead about from ISA and CCA, channels are quiet and most fleets have only one or two people…
There was a change to weapon power drain (first weapon to fire is now counted), that may have caused it. Especially if you were relying on plasmonic leech to keep your power levels up, which got nerfed. Other than that, DHC's got buffed by the balance pass.
The only real way to do would be to put the player into a canon build and disable all traits, specializations and doffs. A bit like the fight in Temporal Ambassador before you started on the power creep. For a bit more realistic combat, it'd have to be elite difficulty. I'd be all for that.
Hidden Payload is an amazing set. It makes Borg Disconnected really easy, as long as you don't have someone "helping" you by blowing up an NPC right next to you.
Look, the game has plenty of issues. More PvP will not fix anything. In fact it'll just draw attention to all of STO's flaws. "Wait, I got that guy down to zero health, why is he still alive!?" "These placates are BS! I just got placated 3 times in a row." "How the hell did those cannons just rip through my hull when my…
Yay, the timegated AFK mission is back. Queue up, minimize STO, do some housework, come back 10 minutes later and help take out the dread. Seriously though, time gated missions just mke people want to AFK, since their involvement makes no diffence to the length of the mission. The only real AFK deterrent is to make it so…
STO is essentially a free mobile game. Treat it as such and only log in for 30 minutes per day. That's how cryptic wants you to play (hence why you get that once per day bonus mark reward). Modern STO isn't meant for people who crunch numbers, grind queues and put thought into their builds.
I'd agree with the OP if Star Trek Online was a game like Elite Dangerous or the not close to being finished Star Citizen. It's not, it's very much a theme park MMO, where a single Federation cruiser can zap a Borg/Voth/Undine/some-supposedly-uber-powerful-race armada in seconds.
If you keep up with the insane powercreep, most bosses will be too easy. And Cryptic can't balance the powercreep, because a lot of the people who depend on it will have massive tantrums, with rants and "I quit" posts. That last balance pass? Barely scratched the surface. It barely dropped a lot of peoples DPS who didn't…
My number one method is Kerrat, which has plenty of Borg spheres, cubes and hulks to destroy, each giving around 300xp. Given it's not a queue and the Borg respawn, it's pretty easy to just stay there and quickly grind up the masteries. The down side is that you're in competition with other players (both in terms of…
Youtube really needs to get itself sorted out. I can understand them not wanting people to upload full episodes/movies/soundtracks/etc, but their method of content control is really over the top and incredibly easy to exploit and misuse. There are some people who just like to be ars**oles.
There's been a ton of these types of channels. It's helpful, but frankly it's a organic development for the community. Now Doffjobs... Those guys had massive spreadsheets detailing all the DOffs and up to date sheets detailing which mission is in which sector block at any one time.
