  • Please, the example you mentioned may be wildly unethical, but PWE has the longest-standing history of consistent, unrelenting unethical practice. I mean, PWE is ancient in MMO F2P terms, their track record has accumulated layers of TRIBBLE so thick that a single event is not going to upset the balance in the slightest,…
  • The 'entitlement' defense of corporate apologists never ceases to amuse me. He's a customer. He is, in fact, entitled. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCz7MOhMF8g Ignore the trolls, keep complaining all you want, it actually does work when enough are doing it. Publically.
  • Cryptic is commanded by Perfect World Interactive, known as the dirtiest publisher in free-to-play (I shouldn't use that term anymore now that it is soon illegal in the EU) so expect these things. Go to your consumer protection bureau, if your country has one (which is almost every country except USA)
  • Couldn't possibly agree more. The new T6 ships are supposed to be the top of the line, funny timing, after firing all the competent 3D modelers and replacing them with ozelots. Expecting a meager handful of severely unprofessionally designed low-poly ships that look like they come from an ST imitation game off Facebook to…
  • It's pretty sad that I can say completely without hyperbole that seeing these pictures physically repulsed me. Now I know that the phrase "threw up a little in my mouth" in relation to art can actually happen. My complaint isn't that they depart too much from Star Trek or that they are too flat. They are just ugly. Plainly…
  • I recently came back to the game and started playing my science character up to 50. Using the photonic fleet skill, I saw my first Typhoon and my immediate reflex was to go to the wiki to find out how to get one. I have NEVER been that interested in a ship on impulse. I was pretty surprised when I saw it's not playable, it…
  • Don't reply if you didn't read. The active reinforcements ability represents their numbers advantage, and brings them up to high tier. L2R Intentional trade-off. My design is a kamikaze ship with reinforcements who are also kamikaze. It's balanced for T4-5 considering the abilities.
  • Nah, Tetryon is fantastic in the right build. A full cannon Science career escort Tetryon build can strip the shield off a group of 5-10 same-level enemies on an alpha strike, then finish the job with torp point defense turret (HEC) You just need to build to increase the proc. Against singular enemies or groups of 2-3 it's…
  • Australia has a population of 20 million. USA has 380 million. Europe has 600 million. I know a lot of Norwegian gamers, since there are so many of them, they'll keep the dil exchange alive, right?
  • The majority of Star Trek fans are from the Americas and Europe. The prior is sleeping, the latter is working. Edit: Are you sure they didn't just shut down offers in the exchange because of the upcoming maintenance?
  • Tuvok and the Emergency medical hologram are among the finest characters the Star Trek franchise ever produced. Though apart from those two I will generally agree with the statement.
  • Probably because the Zen to Dil conversion ratio is absurd. 12 hours of dil farming = 200 zen? Unacceptable. I came back recently, and seeing the sad state of a market crash is very discouraging. I don't want the dil store to be full of power, but there needs to be a great variety of things in it no matter what. At least…
  • I would prefer if it didn't. The 'rust bucket toting space bums' feel of the Kazon is literally their only attraction as a race.
  • I would pay extortionate amounts to upgrade my Sao Paolo to T6, but that is the only one. If it's only T5 -> T6 I'll just be deleting a whole lot of ships and hoping a free ship in the 50-60 content rewards fits my playstyle. I already paid for my Armitage and I'm not even remotely interested in doing it again.
  • I agree with the above post about updating all the ships. Honestly, they should have doubled the mesh detail of ships and quadrupled the texture resolutions like two years ago. Only ships need this overhaul, and maybe ground buildings/ environment.
  • Wow I'm the derp here, totally tried putting it on one of my cruisers and not my Armitage last night. Lack of sleep can be disastrous... Sorry for the dumb post.
  • I came back to this game with a mission: to level my science officer to 50, and build myself to be a support/ medium-DPS escort using the Elachi S'Golth Escort. The Elachi escort is the only science-y enough escort to support my build. Now I find out it's going obsolete before I even get to try the damn thing. So what are…

  • Though Jem'Hadar is purple, not pink... As for me, I'd like some completely white energy beams up in this game.
  • How about we get some original ship designs into this washizzle. This game is far from canon anyway. Continue the Armitage and Thunderchild line of thought, and stop trying to incorporate the most obtuse designs left to scrounge from past shows (practically the only major canon ship left to do is the Norway class, and CBS…
  • I'm sorry OP, but I bet 500 people have a ship named the USS Norway, and if I lost it I would grapple my axe and head to the longboat to reap vengeance on everyone responsible. As any true Viking would!
  • Because there are ships that don't allow the use of dual heavies. Like certain science vessels, the very class that most want to proc these effects. They'll have to use normal duals or get a special ship in the zen store.
  • I kind of pity most people here. I just arrived, but this lock box trope has become a staple of the most shady F2P MMOs out there. People feel forced to get the top prize because if they don't they feel 'left behind'. People spend exorbitant sums, teeter on the edge of personal ruin. Get addicted... If you think it doesn't…
  • Meh, it's kind of TRIBBLE. This is a form before function look that if you really think about it, is TRIBBLE to hell. If you like this design, then answer this... What is the function of the back "scaffold"? No, you can't answer that, don't even try. It's not a deflector and it's not an impulse engine and it's not inertial…
  • I have been running STO normally, using two cores as is it's default. I assure you, nothing changed in my configuration between then and now. It's simply a change in how many torpedoes are being used by the players in the zone.
  • Nobody is paying dilithium for content. People are paying dilithium to be at the level of other players so they can compete for purple drops in STF's and for kills in PvP, which is much, much worse. Anyone can grind to level 50 without the story, nobody can grind competition away. The fallacy of this statement is profuse,…
  • Actually, game levels are designed using tile sets, so a foot of interior would be incorporated into a single unit of placeable geometry, in addition to several other feet. Also: use the metric system.
  • A corvette rig? Surely, if you are trying to draw parallells towards cars I would expect better. Even if this particular rig is nowhere near top spec at the moment. In fact my GPU is quite aged. It is basically a hot-running 560Ti, so I'm well aware I need to upgrade my GPU. I think you will find, that if you actually…
  • How is LoTRO's deed system any more restrictive than this game's wall-o'-Dilithium? In fact, the latter will take you much longer to get anything meaningful done as per end game gear than the prior will for content! And LoTRO has actual quality expansions to unlock, ripe with throngs of content. STO still looks like…
