  • One thing I know everyone will be clamoring for will be the ships, so I will forgo that. The one thing I’d like to see brought in from “Star Trek – Picard” would be Picard himself. I know it’s a tall order, but bringing the legendary captain into STO would be a wonderful addition to the game. We already have such a huge…
  • I can also confirm this bug. It appears that all of the Winter 2019 BOFF skills are no longer showing up on the skill lists. You can still purchase the training manuals and those loadouts already saved are still able to use the skill, but it’s no longer showing on the skill lists for selection.
  • A charming bit of lore. One of the slice of life bits that has a nice place in Star Trek.
  • You make a good point with the Phoenix Prize Pack. One wonders if they will ever migrate the Dyson Science Destroyer over to it to join the other Anniversary ships available there. It would make more sense to have it in the Phoenix Pack than in the Lobi store where it's so out of place.
  • I can also confirm that the Lobi and the Anniversary Dyson ships are the same. I can also confirm that if you never completed the anniversary project but later bought the Lobi store ship, it does not unlock on all your other characters. There is, however, a strange thing about the Dyson Destroyer available in the Lobi…
  • I’m pleased to see that Cryptic is being a bit more open about what they plan to do. I will look forward to seeing what they have in store as far as the story is concerned. However, I share the worry of many long-time players that the core game and much of the old content will continue to suffer. Now, the reorganization of…
  • I agree with this idea. The older missions religated to the optional side of things should still be clearly marked and easy to find in the mission journal. Many of the missions that are going to be made optional contain important lore and give out useful and unique rewards. They may no longer be manditory, but they are…
  • The U.S.S. Green Saber. NX-17011-C. The fourth to bear the name, in remembrance of the first ship I ever flew in Star Trek Online. She's gotten through many a scrap and seen many things, but she's held together over the years and bears her scars with pride.
  • The two consoles of the set are in fact Universal. The issue is that one of them is tied to only one class of ship while the rest of the set is usable by other classes. Now, the reasoning behind restricting the set to the Tac Escorts is understood, as was pointed out here: However, we also know this: Moreover, the show its…
  • Well, today's patch did not fix the framerate and associated gameclient crash.
  • You have valid arguments, but after running the test you recommended, cleaning out my fans, and a host of other things, the problem still persists. I let the test run for about as long as I play before encountering the issue, and my system was still fine. I can continue to tinker, but I really do think it’s more than just…
  • Just as an afterthought: Wouldn’t it be nice if the new T6 Light Cruiser could be fitted to look like the Pioneer class for TOS characters?
  • I've had overheating issues with older laptops, but the one I have now has been able to run STO for years without a hitch. Perhaps not at full graphics, but I've not had any trouble like this until now. This issue began the day Season 13 went live, and it was even more pronounced that first day before the follow-up patch.…
  • I have been encountering Framerate issues as well. After some time of usage, I've discovered some consistency in the problem, at least for me. For those interested, my machine’s specs are as follows: Dell Inspiron N4110 Intel® Core i3-2330M CPU @2.20GHz 8.00 GB RAM 64-bit Windows 7 Running with system-standard hardware…
  • There's also no mention of fixing the continuing game client crash issue. I really do hope they fix that soon. I'll cross my fingers that the issue might just be fixed with this patch.
  • What I’ve been able to see and play of Core Assault I have liked. The teamwork required and the activities of the mission are fun and encouraging. However, I’ve not been able to see much of the mission because it’s almost unplayable for me. Each time I’ve run the mission, I’ve encountered the same problem: the moment a…
  • I've had game client crashes as well, though it hasn't made the entire game unplayable for me. And after reading some of these posts, the trend seems to be that those on laptops and less powerful machines are suffering the most. What happens to me is that the game loads in just fine and things begin as normal. However, if…
  • Here's a bit of a hairbrained theory, but it's been kicking around in my head and it won't go away: The composition of the crystals has not yet been identified, but they seam very similar to Dilithium. We also don't know who this Tzenkethi Autarch is, but it sounds like he or she came to power in the recent past. The…
  • I am experiencing the map moving crash almost every time I hit the loading screen. The map loads to around 40%, then hangs completely. Fortunately, when I load back into the game, I spawn in the map I was moving to, so my progress isn't lost. But this issue is making the game difficult to play and enjoy.
  • It seems that we have some very passionate people in this thread, on both sides of the line. Both good and bad, smart and harebrained ideas have been put forward. To those who have stepped up to defend their opinion, I applaud your determination. I will now ask this question: At the end of the day, can anything you acquire…
  • I agree that the way it was released by the developers was the most logical method. However, it's what happens to the higher end prize ships (not just the TOS Conny) once they find their way to some of the players that this thread is about.
  • Exactly. This is what my admittedly long-winded original post was trying to get at. But why should I argue about this? I’ve said my piece and, as I’ve said before, it’s all just a game. I may not like how expensive the promo ships are, but I will not try to force how other people play (or use) the game. I play the game…
  • Perhaps. But there is one certainty, which I highlighted in my original post: The game will eventually die. And when that death occurs, it will take with it everything that the players have built or saved. It well may be that the bubble will behave as you’ve stated while the game lives, but it will burst completely when…
  • I recently had the thought that perhaps the holodecks or replicators (which are normally just set dressing) could be put to good use. Rather than risk mucking-up the timeline, we could go to a holodeck and call up a recreation of 23c Space Dock or go to a replicator and call up a store tab for the supplies that were…
  • I'd say that this idea is on the right track. There's no need for new weapon slots, just weapons with different functionality. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the 360 weapons (Omni-beams and turrets) in this discussion. Broadside torpedoes could be similar, in that it doesn't matter if they are fore or aft mounted.…
  • So, if I understand this correctly, the TOS era expansion will function much like the existing factions do. The Modern Federation, Klingon, and Romulan factions each have their own starting story arc, then each converge into the common story. There may be some limitations, but the way they are describing this, (unique…
  • (Post made 5/2/2016) Just by way of reminder: 5.5.16 is this coming Thursday. We should be expecting whatever the TOS hook at the end of trailer was to appear with this week's patch! B) I'm looking forward to it.
  • I do in fact read the patch notes. I'm also well aware that programming for a game like this is never really done. It's impressive what the team has been able to do thus far and I'm not trying to drag them down. I did not intend for my original post to feel demeaning in any way. The fact is that unless people speak up in a…
  • I didn't say that they aren't trying. In fact, I know that they are. What I did say is that some people have perceived the persistence of many of the small bugs as though the team didn't care or that they don’t know what they’re doing... When in fact the team does care, is competent, and puts up with lots of schlock. It’s…
