I, too, support the idea of removing team restrictions. Defera missions are just a few of many examples of older content (like Fleet Alert, Starbase Incursion etc.) where you should do fine without a team, indeed. Content like this would become playable with a much higher frequency if it could be done solo.
Or, now that I'm thinking about it, use grenades in combination with the aformentioned Containment field. Forcing your enemies to either get hit by the grenade, or running from that to be electrocuted >:) .
Yeah, they're far from effective. They can definitely be fun though. I haven't really bothered with it myself, but mixing a grenade-control build on the ground might be effective.
Sounds like one of the 'wind' kit modules. There's one that drags enemies towards you, from the Disco reputation: https://sto.fandom.com/wiki/Universal_Kit_Module_-_Gravity_Containment_Unit The other one comes from the Infinity box, it pushes them away: [Universal Kit Module - Hurricane Wave Device]…
I would also like to see more Xindi Boffs. And put the one from the Lobi store in the Dilithium, GPL, C- or one of the reputation stores please. With so little actual multiplayer Boff content, their species are mostly relevant for RP'ing and crew building related reasons. We shouldn't have to pay 300 lobi a piece for that.
I never cared much for the 3-piece remodulator. I liked the outfits for their looks and that's why I got them. The real advantage with respect to remodulating comes from the T3 Omega reputation trait. Without that, you'd still have to remodulate like a hundred times in each mission. Doesn't help much that remodulating is…
Personally, I create new toons because I have a new idea for a certain theme or build for them. The episodes? I don't play them on each new toon, most certainly not all of them. I think players should have the option to create things that don't really fit well with the game's main storyline, because playing that storyline…
Well, the same could be said about Talaxians to be honest. Or Cardassians. If we follow the storyline, they shouldn't really be around for the tutorials set in 2409 either. And honestly, we can fly Baltim Raiders and Temporal ships right after creating a character anyway. Heck, we can even fly Borg ships that were never…
With Denobulans, I wonder if they are interesting enough to a sufficient number of players to warrant the development costs. You can get easily create one through the alien generator. But I've hardly ever seen an Alien-Denobulan. I certainly would like it if they were added, as they were one of the earliest species to work…
I tried mirroring an Exeter class as viewed from above. Got the head and legs (nacelles) about right, but the body looked more like that from a Tucker class...
Under some circumstances I'd agree. In missions like Guillotine though - where I think we met - it kinda makes sense to destroy the enemies as fast as possible. More casual players tend to get overwhelmed pretty quickly near the end (i.e. with 5 stitching points completed) if the Adaptors etc. near the remaining points…
Truth be told, I also think STO isn't advertising that much. When I look for a couch online, the algorithms will present them everywhere shortly after. Yet, despite Googling for 'STO Forum' almost every day, as well as for names of consoles etc. on a regular basis, I've never seen an ad. I may have seen one once or twice,…
As for cutting out bugged parts of episodes: I'm not a fan. If I understand this correctly, the bugged part is a part that contains an accolade. I'd hate to see things like these being cut out, since, even after the bug fixes, it's very likely that it won't be put in again. Or only after another round of bug fixes that may…
Though I read the notes, I was under the impression that they would come sometime later this year. Good to know they're coming sooner. And yes, I assume there will be no fused weapons. That would be the worst decision ever, after all the feedback given on that point. xD
Personally I find little enjoyment in missions that last only 30 seconds. Some, like the Tzenkethi one last longer, but few people queue for that one - I like it when the mission takes longer than half a minute, that doesn't mean I enjoy sitting in a queue for 15 minutes. So honestly, I prefer to just go alone for these…
Yeah, that's what I meant by 'retired', didn't really know what word to use instead. If you could ask him, that'd be great. It would be fun to play this again sometime. :)
Rather than adding more points, I think they should focus on diversifying the tasks. There's a lot of content that's hardly played anymore and that's not included in the system. Fleet Alert, Starbase Incursion, the Borg ground missions. Likewise, there is all sorts of gear that's hardly used, like stun pistols - simply…
In my opinion, the boxes are interesting enough to keep doing endeavours. The doable, low-nuisance ones at least - I'll skip stuff like doing 3 advanced Lukari TFO's as one would spend more time waiting for the missions to launch than actually be playing them. They're just not worth the trouble, imo. I'm even of the…
To be honest, there aren't that many ships anyway. So they're going to be obscured by the wider ship population, including those from newer shows (remember, Beyond is almost 8 years old already - Into Darkness is over a decade old now). And they're all Promo/LB/Lobi/Mudd ships too. So it's not surprising that they're rarer…
Why though? The price of 'that stuff' has declined significantly. Why would more people now suddenly be interested in obtaining it directly, instead of through the exchange?
