  • That's assuming they bother to level any of the reps to T5, most are disposable accounts, so for them it's the fastest route from A to B, which for many means unlock T1 of the Dyson rep and use a bot to "tag" V-Rex, and another bot to turn in the marks. Now they have to level to T5 before they can turn in the marks, so…
  • Same reason they keep changing the level requirements on some other things, game is riddled with Dilithium farmers, accounts that do nothing but farm the purple rock. Cryptic can't remove the Dilex without killing the game, so they are trying to slow down the farmers, trying to make it less appealing to them.
  • Was in there yesterday for an endeavour, I was all alone in there, couldn't find any ships to kill, then suddenly my ship warped out and warped back in, right into the middle of a furball with lots of other players, got the endeavour, but still have no idea WTF happened to cause me to warp out and back in like that.
  • Little disclaimer here, I don't work for Cryptic and never have, so take what I say about the games code with a large pinch of salt. As an old school game moder and sometimes beta tester I have a better understanding on how game code works than most, so when loadouts first came out I had to do a fair bit of experimenting,…
  • What most don't realise, is that when the loadout system was created every single slot on a ship could only hold one item, not one stack but one item ie one battery in each device slot. So Cryptic changed how batteries work, in your inv/bank that stack of 20 is still a stack of 20, but once you slot it onto your ship it…
  • The Sword from the Nukara rep absorbs energy when you use it and adds that to the damage it does, hit a bunch of borg with exothermic and start hitting them with the sword and the borg will very quickly adapt to the exothermic, and the same goes for every other environmental kit power, not sure about psionic though.
  • In the story missions the Romulans have always been a bit more OP than most other NPCs, but since LoR and the revamps they have done since, that D'D has become more OP that anything else. The amount of space magic that thing can use is scary at any lvl, staying out of it's forward firing arc is always advisable. So instead…
  • It's pretty obvious to me that the new shaders don't work as well as they thought, there is no Specular shine on any of my toons, even the 7of9 outfit has lost it's shine and looks flat and 2D now, and the hair now looks even more low res than before. A red tint from a fake SSS only works for "pink skins", so if they are…
  • Cryptic's idea was that at lvl 60 you should have needed to upgrade your gear to Mk 14, but I think they messed up their sums on the NPC scaling, as a result you could still get away with using Mk 12 VR gear, even at lvl 64. With ViL I believe that they over compensated, so now when you hit lvl 65 you are basically facing…
  • Those three story arcs were put into the "Available" tab with the revamp, each of them got a "starter" mission that you have to do to unlock the arcs, basically go to point X to trigger "talking" to the mission giver. Originally those "starter" missions were available early on, but some idiot at Cryptic decided to change…
  • Looks like they added a new "glitch" to the start of the race, not a long enough delay between players being "moved" to the track, just spawned on track as the player ahead of me was coming to the end of their countdown, and the worst part was they weren't very good on ice, I got past them without getting in their way but…
  • Different people have different ways to control their toons, what they use doesn't make much of a difference on regular space or ground maps, but add a brain that is unable to cope with movement on ice or Zero-G and you have a player that is going to struggle. Cryptic actually got that space walk effect pretty damned…
  • I can understand why some people have a hard time running the race, running on ice is unnatural for most people in the real world, and Cryptic did such a good job of recreating that effect in game. It's all down to how our brain is "wired up", some can play this game on elite and find it a breeze, while others with the…
  • I can understand what the OP is getting at, if you are a new player or even a casual who can only manage a few hours a week, then this game can very quickly start to look like one of those Korean "grinders" you hear about. It all starts off fine, getting new gear and ships as you level up, then suddenly you are level 65,…
  • Bit of an understatement there, IMHO it's the best carrier in game, you have eight ships ripping the TRIBBLE out of everything so how could it not be >:) Going through all of the pets I have access to I place the gunboats a close second to the Plesh Breks, and that's only because they don't come out of the hangar facing…
  • When AoD first launched Quinn would have "Go To" missions for those Arcs once you completed "The Galaxy at Large" mission, sadly a couple of weeks back some idiot at Cryptic decided to change the requirements for those "Go To" missions, now you need to be LVL65 to get access to them. The actual story Arc missions don't…
  • Players hate ground coz you can't FAW spam or fire your weapons by mashing the spacebar :p
  • Have Cryptic brought back that ability ? I used to trade commissioned Boffs back and forward between both of my accounts (dual logged), that way I could train them without needing someone else. But after we got the training manuals in R&D that ability was removed, spent hours trying to pass Boffs back and forward with no…
  • PST time shows 2.5 hours for maintenance, so the 3.5 hours for UTC means someone can't count and put 18:30 instead of 17:30.
  • Sweet F*** All, don't need any of that garbage, and even if I did I'm not stupid enough to pay the ridiculously high prices the tossers put on that junk.
  • It's been happening to me since the patch on November the 1st, but yesterdays patch seems to have increased the LAG for me, no DCs for me though.
  • Probably due to you using on demand patching, some of us like to have the entire game on our HDD rather than just part of it. The drawback is that when patching we have to download at least double what you have to.
  • The account discount isn't an auto unlock on completion of Tier 6, you will find a project that you have to fill with EC,Dil, and marks before you get the account wide discount.
  • Claiming T6 also has a nasty habit of making your skill tree go "invalid", if you don't know or don't have screenies of your skill tree then you might want to wait until after maintenance before claiming T6.
  • Just ran both of those missions, and got my marks and elite marks for both Delta and Iconian reps, 6 marks for each rep from both missions, 1 elite mark for each rep from both missions and the daily mark pack for both reps.
  • Caught me out at first too, it's a bonus pool of salvage that get's auto applied to your character, check top left of your screen as that's where the bonus pools show how much is left in them.
  • Actually you could claim them all, back when the Delta Recruit event first started you could claim all of the rewards at lvl 10, I cleared all of those rewards on a couple of level 10 toons back then, as well as on several higher leveled toons. They increased the level requirement to lvl 20 before Agents of Yesterday, but…
  • Just hit 26 on my AoD and it unlocked the Romulan Mystery rewards from both Delta & Temp, it also unlocked the Rom only Vengence rewards from Delta. However it looks like it might be different level requirements depending on your faction, my fed allied Rom Delta rerun was lvl 30 before Romulan Mystery unlocked in the Temp…
  • @where2r1, it's the Story Arc Completed rewards that have been changed, you can claim the other rewards at lvl20 even if you cant use them yet. Your pictures are showing the same things I'm seeing on my lvl30 fed/rom Delta rerun, as well as my lvl20 AoD toon. The last non recruit toon I leveled to 20 was before ViL was…
  • Basically what you are saying is that they have (yet again) changed the level requirements to claim the story arc rewards (bloody dil farmers, parasites the lot of them). It's not enough to just get a toon to lvl20 (Jem's 25+ hours) any more, I now have to level up through set stages to unlock certain rewards. Kind of…
