Game Breaker: Away Team + Big Explosions = Crash

I have a lot of crashes when doing away team missions. The gameplay is terrible in combat scenes. It happens a lot that the screen freezes for a sec.

And with big explosions the game tends to crash.

I have the following setup:
Intel I7 920
6GB Ram
HD5850 @ Catalyst 9.12
Windows 7 64 Bit.

My Brother does not have these problems:
AMD Phenom II 710
4GB Ram
HD4850 @ Catalyst 9.12
Windows 7 64 Bit.

    I'm also getting this problem. At first I thought it was when I used the keyboard to fire weapons (eg. 1 - 8 key shortcuts), but then I got further on the "Into the fire" mission, and it kept crashing when just using the mouse. This seems to only happen during combat, and my settings are on full using a Radeon HD5770\Win 7 32bit. I'm going to try to tone my settings down a little to see if that helps.

    also getting this issue.

    ATI 4870 latest drivers.

    In a other thread someone suggested to turn of the auto-stabilize framerate option: Options->Video->Troubleshooting

    I will try it tonight.

    wasalready switched off, turned it on but on difference.
