ok, beam down, get the quest to scan an artifact. it says some generic thing that leads you to go scan x amount of other objects. I begin the "trek" and cant find enough of them. this has happened on 3 different away missions. the one i'm doing right now has 4 objects i scanned(the first one started the mission and is not interactable after this) leaving me 3/4.... onther quest thursday didnt even have 2/5 objects for me to scan. and the one i did find was invisible. i only found it when i went to loot a gorn corpse.
any ideas? I have searched these maps very carefully. I am having so little luck on completing away missions...
Yeah they need to work on that. Like blue dots on the map indicating where they are.
I'm cool w/Tactical peeps having diffiiculty locating them, but I think that Eng & Scifficers should be able to track em down with different degrees of accuracy. A little bit of work here could go a long way in making tracking these down fun and immersive, with different scanning abilities avail per bridge officer / PC specialisation ?
Example:
Tactical: Aliens-style echo finder
Sci: Area marked on map
Eng: pinpoint
Alternatively (and perhaps more easily), scanner/tricorder upgrade modules could be purchased and earned to make this easier. T1 gives you an echo-finder, T2 a general radius etc. More common modules could only track down common anomalies & rarer mods would be needed to pinpoint the rarer (higher level) stuff.
IMO this is going to remain a really unfriendly and arbitrary fetch-quest gameplay feature without *some* work. It actively *discourages* people from exploring - just ask any random dude on zone chat to get the opinion echoed.
