09/26 marks the 18th anniversary of the airing of ST:Enterprise. Wish it had had a longer run :(

    Me too. Still would have liked to see the Earth-Romulan War as well as Manny Coto's take on the Kzinti ships.

    Wish I could've reached into my screen and broken Archer's nose on the viewscreen when he started ranting about the Kreetassians being mean to his dog.

    Nope. Sports-games in particular don't even try hiding that they're obviously the same game as last year with updated database and PERHAPS slightly better graphics nowadays.

    And frankly… the majority of "new" stuff has been there before in one form or another. Truly original or innovative are rare breeds.

    Some things just can't be replicated, though. Like the end-of-file indicator in COBOL, an 88-level variable that can be given any name. I had a program that might have to iterate anywhere between 5 and 2000 times when it ran; I named the 88-level THE-COWS-COME-HOME.

    The program included (and may well still) the line

    Back in the day I worked at a shop that did a lot of stuff in ColdFusion. That's another one people have said is "dead" yet still chugging along.

    This thread is not about when you worked in a shop. It is to mark the anniversary of Enterprise turning 18.
