Interested to see if they roll out more options later, or will we only ever see this as a reputation weapon?

    This. It's a shame, it would be really neat to get some new variations on weapons once in a while.

    I was kinda hoping to see that you would have the option of the heavy dual bank, and then as another choice in the cannon side a quad cannon too. They are somewhat similar in that they are upgrades to the existing dual cannon an dual beam bank types.

    Well there has been reps that only had a single weapon type choice, like the romulan rep an the nukara rep for example, and if they did that again i would not be annoyed if cannons got the same treat. Like the rep after this one had only a cannon choice either a single dual/dual heavy option. Though I would more feel they missed out on a potentially good option here. We just get a re weapon that is of a typical weapon type that is quite common (beam array/ban, single/dual/dual heavy cannon), but quad cannons an the idea of a new heavy dual bank (i would prefer a lance like beam weapon high single target low shot per cycle weapon)is quite unique an could add to some variety to the game visually.

    I've seen the idea of a Heavy Beam Array floated before on the forums. I like the idea even if it just makes less VFX clutter on the screen due to half the shots of a normal BA. Not sure a Heavy DBB will really do a lot in the grand scheme of things.

    But seeing how DBBs are the cheapest item on the market, it couldn't hurt giving a different option since either they are in low demand or lockbox weapon packs just spew out way too many of them. (or both)

    I hoped that if they were ever going to introduce a wide variety of heavy beam arrays (or dual beam banks) that they would make them exclusive to cruisers and dreadnoughts (like current heavy weapons are exclusive to escorts). Battles in the shows always felt more like two WW era battleships attacking each other (with some exceptions of course). One salvo, long recharge time, next salvo.

    Given that existing "heavy" weapons have exact same DPS just split into fewer shots...doesn't seem like much of a difference.

    A set piece DBB by itself adds some welcome diversity to the generally all array/DHC focus of sets, though.

    Always preferred DBB's to cannons, heavy variant might earn a spot on a battlecruiser.

    Depend just what the difference is in base damage perhaps a Beam Overload with the Heavy will be semi worth it? I have 1 beam fitted with Beam Overload to trigger the Heavy mine trait so I might give 1 heavy beam a go.

    Yeah even with heavy variants of the turrets it really just makes them have a higher damage output per shot an so a bit more spike damage, though i do also agree it will be nice to see another set that uses dual beam banks as the only set currently that ueses one really is Nukara. This is partly though also why i suggest they move to the set weapon being more of a unique type of weapon like quad cannons, artillery cannons, and the lance-beam array/bank, which all could have quite distinct firing looks as well as damage output (I mean a beam array/bank that does a single or pair of shots for high damage in a cycle is different), than you could also give them a unique interaction with beam/cannon boff abilities too.

    But if it is a more powerful/more energy in each burst shot, maybe it would get a range boost too? Like I believe the Lobi store Tetryon canon from the Hirogen pack? May be interesting as it COULD be new territory. Perhaps its going to be the beam array version of the Dual Heavy Cannon (which do more burst damage than Dual Cannon as previously mentioned) so it has a heavier hitting but lower cycle rate, which as also previously brought out, could be HUGE using BO or BFAW as both increase damage. I also like the idea someone mentioned about it being cruiser locked (generally) as DHC are currently (generally) escort locked. So they have some options with this one.

    I just hope they bring back the original visuals for sensor linked weapons. I really miss their proper look.
