Deety,
Your first task as commander of Charlie will be to sweep through the Beta quadrant to the gateway to the Delta Quadrant. Initial reports are that the Voth are massing a large fleet to be directed to the Solenae Dyson sphere. You are tasked to eliminate any Orion Pirate groups between SB314 and the sphere then reduce the threat of the Voth as you see fit after transit. You will have limited support once you are in the Delta quadrant. Engage only if you have superiority in firepower.

Commanding officers all other units BGC report to Adm Irrova USS Chris C Kraft. Adm Irrova designated screen commander for HVUs

Tis is the first time Starfleet is integrating carriers from non-starfleet designs into a single battle group. Consult Cmdr. Lancaster USS Tarazed , Cmdr. Baldwin USS Sword of Barsoom for flight characteristics of aforementioned ships and their primary wing components. You will need to decide how to assign the screening vessels. Recommend at least one Odyssey class be assigned to USS Independence considering the Jupiter has similar flight characteristics. Assignment of warfare commanders at your discretion. Informal designation of the escort group is now CruDesGru 12 / Desron 8 You are senior officer of escort ships. Your option on wearing dual hats or assigning command of Destroyer Squadron 8 to CO USS Forrest Sherman.

Orion Pirates and RSE operatives seem to have ears in Starfleet. The spacelanes seemed rather empty as we approached the gate to the Delta Quadrant. I sent a message to Franklin Drake, requesting an intel ship to test our EmCon discipline before we went though, just in case we were broadcasting something that was giing us away.
I have a good group under my command. I have faith that between excellent tactics from Jana and Proxima, we can inflict very heavy damage on even a superior force with limited losses. Contact with the Talaxians indicate the Voth may be massing in the Yontasa sector. We are stopping over at Kobali Prime for supplies and last minute updates.
Deep Space, Alsurian Sector, Delta Quadrant
Phaser fire and Anti-proton beams crisscrossed the blackness of space. The flare of defensive shields absorbing energy glowed a white-blue. Castillo escorts dove on the Voth ships from above, forcing the ships to redeploy to met the threat. Seconds later, Jem Hadar attack ships emblazoned with the red orb and sword of Barsoom ripped into the right flank. Gravity wells and energy siphons from Orb weavers formed a pincer from the left.
Torpedo hits on the battleship that appeared to be the command ship threw the entire force into disarray. Odyssey class starships stood off, lending fire support to the three Manticore destroyers as they ripped into the front of the formation. Heavy phaser cannons ripped trough the shields of the screening Voth frigates, and space burned with miniature suns as Voth warp cores breached.
Victory was certain until a Citadel dreadnought dropped with precision into the fight. Forrest Sherman and Chris C Kraft turned as one to strafe along the kilometers long hull, The Odyssey class Pythagoras burned full power and dove into the original force, adding her powerful phasers to the cannon fire of the remaining Manticore, Moana Kea.
Independence and Tarazed maneuvered, along with the the remaining lighter escorts added torpedo salvos to the fight. Bunker Hill separated, her primary chevron firing off gravity wells and the warp powered battle section joining in the combat of the Citadel. One of the Orb weavers and several Callisto and attack bugs were out of the fight, but they had done their jobs, the Voth battle force was either destroyed or withdrawing. Tarazed fired a spread of Quantum torpedoes, which managed to get through the shields of a palisade frigate, destroying it’s bridge. The crippled ship, under full impulse drive, smashed through the Citadel’s shields. The enormous ship shuddered, and then began to maneuver away from the federation forces. With a flicker of pseudo-motion it jumped to warp.
On every bridge, cheers rang forth as the battle group celebrated it’s first victory. Apollo had several decks damaged, as did USS Yoyodyne, and several of the carrier air wing ships were severely damaged.
The carriers recovered their craft, and at a reduced speed, the battle group resumed their trek to Kobali.
“Red alerts never happen during the day.” Captain Jamison had said that in the first week at the Academy. In the Delta Quadrant, that rule appeared to be true.
The claxon whined, waking Burroughs from a pleasant dream. Deety remembered she was undressed a moment before she hit the com switch. She managed to drag a sheet over her body before the Bridge picked up the signal. The holographic image of Montgomery Scott reported that three cloaked vessels had set off sensors, and the fleet had dropped from warp.
Satisfied she had time, Burroughs slipped from her warm bed, grabbed a cold shower and got into a clean uniform. By the time she had reached the bridge, it was fully manned, and the fleet had stepped to yellow alert.
Marjorie “Friday” Baldwin surrendered the center seat, informing Deety that three alliance ships had decloaked and were standing by. Admirals Irrova and Drummond were on a separate channel, and a glance at the status board showed Barsoom’s air wing was ready to launch.
The screen was filled with the meanacing swept wings of a Scimitar class warbird. Much smaller yet equally as menacing was the sleek shape of a Mat’Ha raptor. Her mouth twitched in a smile as she recognized the third ship. What appeared to be an antique, the D7 class IKS Qo’noS Iw announced to Deety who was in command. The screen flickered and the familiar face of Dahar Master Mariah came into focus. The screen was split to show an attractive Romulan and a hulking Gorn. Although she did not know them Deety assumed that they were skilled commanders in their own right. Only the elite command Scimitar’s and for a Gorn to be commanding one of the Klingon Empire’s newest designs spoke volumes.
“Admiral”, the girlish Orion said, You cannot go to Kobali. We need to speak, in person. Please allow my comrades and I to transport to your ship.”
