Crafting them takes a great deal of resources. Some materials are costly to make(since they require a certain amount of refined dilithium). You also have to level your Cannon R&D crafting to level 15, have the correct crafting duty officer, and it takes 20 hours to make a single Wide-Arc cannon. On top of that, there are Wide-Arc weapons of various flavors that can be gained from lockboxes. Salty Grandpa @ruinthefun is right. Only one can be mounted on a ship, and unless you have one of the really old ones(that has the (Arc) mod baked in), that mod eats up a slot. I have a few pylons with old Wide-Arc DHCs that don't have that (Arc) mod eating up space.

Go on ahead and try to flood the market with them. See what happens. Good luck with your pillow hands attempt at "greed slapping" people trying to make money.

If wide arc and omnis could be crafted at Mk2 like other things. We'd have a lot more supply. Might all be Mk2s, but at least you could buy/craft one cheap and work at upgrading it.

They can't. They can only be crafted at Mk 12. Very Rare, unless you crit and get an Ultra Rare. The only Mk 2 omnis and wide-arcs are pulled from lockbox weapon packs of certain weapon flavors. This is because each R&D school has a special level 15 crafting item tied to them. There's a way to increase supply however. ADDITIONAL PYLONS REQUIRED!!! Make a gaggle of alts, level up their crafting, gather the resources, and have each pylon load up on the doffs and fire up the bakeries.

They can't. They can only be crafted at Mk 12.

That would be why I said 'if' at the start of my sentence.

People, do fact-check before jumping on a topic like this. WADHCs start at 800k. :disappointed:

I still find that overpriced. Maybe not when compared to the cost of the mats to make, but to their utility. Like Ruin says, you only get one, so you still have to get inside the smaller arc of the normal dual cannons to be effective. (Unless you are taking one wide arc and then a bunch of single cannons.)

Wide arc cannons? Which flavor / energy type?

For plain ones, it takes special mats, dil, credits, a specialist duty officer, and a 20 hour wait to craft one.

If you mean lock box weapons, I'm not sure [arc] cannons even exist, but the [arc] omni beams are very rare compared to other beam types so you need to spend piles of lock box keys to get one.

That's why i insisted not so long time ago that dual cannons should have 90 degree fire arc…

Hmmm....People should be glad they have an Arc at all considering on-screen the Defiant's only fired forward in a straight line.

But as for thinking 800k is overpriced!? Seriously?? That amount of EC is easy to reach with 1 toon, nevermind multiple!

You can pull Wide-Arc DHCs out of specific weapon packs. Such as Diffusive Tetryon, and Isolytic Plasma. Just like the weapon pack omnibeams, they're *that* rare.

    (a) Wide arcs are not worth it IMO. Sure, thy'll score the extra hit if the target is off, but as others have noted it shouldn't be in the first place. Better than narrow arcs with otherwise same specs though, and

    (b) still affordable. I have never been grinding ec or played the exchange game or what have you, but still, 800k really isn't that much money. You get admiralty worth 200k, you bcan get contraband, even though it used to pay more, you can tour the galaxy or just play the game and let the ec accumulate.

Yes. Since you can only have 1, it's a wasted mod for the arc mod. If 4 of your 5 cannons have a 45 arc, you will not try to spend any significant time in that extra arc for just1 gun. Just looking now on the Exchange... normal DHCs start at 100k. Funnily enough the first one on the list was one with [pen].

If you could mount 5 wide arc cannons & you are non-optimal at maneuvering they would add significant dps.

You might as well just equip dual beam banks instead of 1 wide angle cannon. At least then you could use the T3 weapon enhance power and the T3 attack pattern.

It is nice to give the guy/gal weapons advice, but what he/she needs is to get his/her resource grind up to speed....so that 800k EC is easy to get.
