Looking for build advice

So I'm starting to get back into the hang of things with STO, havent played in a while but I'm almost to 65 on my old characters. So far here's my current setup:

Federation engineer captain - Multimission science vessel. Running 3 aux dual heavy phaser cannons forward, two phaser turrets and a kinetic cutting beam rear, adapted maco space set (the one with the heavy graviton beam). My ability setup is gravity well 1 and 3 (for higher uptime) and two copies of cannon rapid fire or scatter volley 1 (changes with what i'm doing). This character was set up to be more of a support character, with lots of heals/control abilities, and high aux power, but seems to be one of my least effective characters right now. I'm working on getting the quantum phase set to boost damage a little more, and will try to upgrade to the tier 6 version of the multimission science vessels soon.

Second character is a federation tactical captain using a t6 support cruiser (used to be in a t5 heavy escort carrier). I tried setting him up as a tank, and that works relatively well right now, he's super tough, but damage output is terrible. Using 2 pc quantum phase set and all beam arrays with FAW 1/2, reverse shield polarity, engineering team, etc. I bought the cross faction support cruiser bundle and love the kdf variant but this federation support cruiser just doesnt seem to really stand out to me.

Third is a KDF engineer on that Klingon support battlecruiser from the above pack (I'm using the fleet version now, got it after buying the pack for the extra stats). He runs an all disruptor build with 3 elachi crescent cannons and the nausicaan disruptor torpedo forward, and the nausicaan disruptor beam array and disruptor turrets backward for the set bonus. He's doing pretty well but I need to find an offensive space equipment set for the ship (currently using mk XII random stuff) that compliments a disruptor dps build. Looking for suggestions there.

Lastly is a romulan-federation science character who is essentially my 'main' right now. He's flying the t6 ju'hael tactical carrier warbird, which I love the loadout on. Using quad plasma cannons, dual heavy plasma cannons, romulan hyper plasma torpedo, and omega plasma torpedo on the front slots, and romulan plasma turrets and kinetic cutting beam array on the rear slots. He's currently using the assimilated space set, but I'm working on getting the t5/t6 romulan set, should have it in another week or two here. His setup runs cannon rapid fire x2 and torpedo spread x2, along with gravity well 1 and 3, for a lot of single target and aoe / control potential.

Any suggestions on the above would be appreciated, but what I'm wanting to look into primarily is a torpedo build for one of those characters - probably the federation tactical (or alternatively a third, new federation character, I wouldnt mind trying a discovery character next). I've never really run an all-torpedo or heavy/predominantly-torpedo build, and think it would be interesting if it can be made effective. I do have all of the heavy escort carrier variants except the t6 alita, which I could acquire later down the line, which means I have access to the torpedo point defense console and its set bonus which would work pretty well for that setup. Could use some suggestions on that front.

    first, try to build your toons at stoacademy so we can see your build and skills. I'm guessing you do not have the bajoran interceptior. the Domino console is a must have IMO for a phaser build. t5 vesta? what flavor? or the T6? assuming the t5, Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Lieutenant Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Engineering, 1 Commander Science, 1 Ensign Universal, 1 Lieutenant Commander Universal I would go TT1, APB1, repalce a turret with a 360 beam, and go BOL1, CRF1 CSV2, EptW1, EPtS1, ET2 HE1, ST2, GW1 GW3. not knowing what starship traits you have can't go further, for captain traits, anything that boosts control and particle emitters. are you part of a fleet? if so spire copnsoles. if not Partgens and a part exciter, preferably with Res A or B.

    the tac capt in the cruiser.. search for a dragon build, but honestly your captains are in the wrong ships.
    don't have experience with either the klink or rommy ships
