That why on fast running maps you need drones for support so they can chase you.
And do you have a favorite Kit Module you enjoy using? Tac, Eng, Sci or Uni?

I have posted the Kit Modules that I use. I hate clingy npc so Force field dome. It fun to see them get splattered on the dome and cannot approach me. Other kits that freeze them so i can move away is good. Kits needs to be flashy, cool, sytlish, not too much strobe and long enough for me to watch the effect. Need my space no touching and groping npc.

    For boff in missions
    1. Command kits, Take Cover, Hammer and Anvil, Shock and Awe
    2. Miracle kits, Throw Regenerative Nanite Canister, Visor Emulation Overlay, Gravitic Induction Field

Those kits are good too bad you cannot upgrade them to MK XV.

Sorry, it has been a while since I reviewed posts in this thread to update notes. Been spending my free time playing the Events in the game.

Thanks for going over it, again, though.

EP 607 does nice damage actually. What you say about the AI "hugging" your character is rather true. It's AI only moves away from you if it's chosen target is out of range.

I use the following on my Science Captain and it works quite well.
    Armor: Romulan Imperial Navy
    Shield: Na'kuhl Temporal Agent
Weapon 1: Lukari Rep Wrist Apparatus
    Weapon 2: Na'kuhl Temporal Agent
Kit: Romulan Imperial Navy (at least one KPerf mod)
    Module1: Medical Tricorder
    Module 2: Seismic Agitation Field
    Module 3: Exothermic Induction Field
    Module 4: Hyperonic Radiation
Module 5: Cold Fusion Flash or Triage

I use 3 Geologist DOFFs to bring the EIF and HR cooldowns to minimum and a couple of Doctors to give temp HP every time I pop off the Medical Tricorder, which I do a lot with the Medical Vanguard trait for perfect shields.

So hit 'em with the earthquake then pop off in quick succession the other 3 (or 2 if running Triage).

That strategy is especially fun with Biochemist doffs as they give enemies a resist penalty and thus make them die faster.

It is creepy. I had a Gorn BOFF that used to do that...I deleted it. That was before manuals.

I actually like the hugging behavior since I use it on a character who I themed on the Predator. Having it stick so close makes it feel like that shoulder cannon Preds use.

My main is a tac captain and I use the romulan imperial navy set with the borg tactical prosthetic. My kit modules are ambush, gravitic juncture, micro cryonic warhead, plasma grenade, and echo papa drone.

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Tactical_Kit_Module_-_Ambush
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Ambush

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Universal_Kit_Module_-_Gravitational_Juncture (Infinity Lockbox, check Exchange)

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Tactical_Kit_Module_-_Micro_Cryonic_Warhead (Winter Event Store)
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Micro_Cryonic_Warhead

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Tactical_Kit_Module_-_Plasma_Grenade
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Plasma_Grenade

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Universal_Kit_Module_-_Echo_Papa_607_Drone_System

My doffs are 3 ambush doffs (bonus damage over 9 seconds), target optics doff (damage resistance debuff on enemy) and fire on my mark doff (chance to expose).

    DOFFS:

    "Security Officer -- Ambush"
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Specialization:_Security_Officer#Ambush_DoT_variant (Section 2.5)

    "Sensors Officer -- Target Optics"
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Specialization:_Sensors_Officer#Target_Optics_variant (Section 2.3)

"Quartermaster -- Fire On My Mark"
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Specialization:_Quartermaster#Fire_on_my_Mark_variant (Section 2.5)

(Note if for some reason Vanilla will not read a URL past the # mark, cut and paste the complete URL...or click on the section noted in parenthesis in the table of contents at the top of the Wiki page)

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is how he uses these abilities in combinations:
So I have 3 groups of skills that I use:

    Secondary Attack Group
    Target Optics/Ambush/Fire on my Mark
This does a TRIBBLE ton of damage to one enemy. I usually use it on bosses.

These two are Tac Captain Player Ability, also, BOFF Training Manual.

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Fire_on_my_Mark_(Ground)

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Tactical_Kit_Module_-_Ambush
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Ambush

    Crowd Control Group
    Gravitic Juncture/Micro Cryonic Warhead/Plasma Grenade
This pulls a group of enemies together, freezes them in place, and burns them with plasma fire. It takes some practice to get the timing right. Sometimes they don't group up properly, but when you pull it off it's awesome. It can kill groups you would never have been able to take on otherwise.

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Tactical_Kit_Module_-_Micro_Cryonic_Warhead (Winter Event Store)

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Tactical_Kit_Module_-_Plasma_Grenade
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Plasma_Grenade

    Summon Spam Group
    Echo Papa/Security Escort/Shard of Possibilities/Tactical Team
I use the trait that gives security escort grenades. This spawns a big group of summons to help me hold a position. I use it when protecting a NPC or anything "King of the Hill".

There's a known bug that causes Echo Papa to disable your ability to sprint. It doesn't bother me since I don't use it outside of protecting an area.

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Universal_Kit_Module_-_Echo_Papa_607_Drone_System

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Security_Escort (Tac Captain Player Ability)
Paired with this trait to train Security Escort with Grenades:
https://sto.gamepedia.com/Trait:_Security_Detail (Infinity Lockbox, Check the Exchange)

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Shard_of_Possibilities
(Ground Device, "Boldly They Rode" reward only during Mission Replay Events...god knows when that is coming back. Ask Kurland.)

Can not locate a "Tactical Team" for Ground...so, it must go by a different name in the game.
I am going to guess: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Strike_Team

The borg prosthetic has some nice DPS on it's primary, and the rom imp set has some nice shields and a bonus to plasma damage, so between just shooting things and my crowd control group I do pretty good in most situations.

    Tactical Version: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Borg_Prosthetic_-_Tactical_Drone
(There is a Medical and an Maintenance version....so look at what you grab in the Omega Rep Store. That Rep Store UI can get confusing.)

Romulan Imperial Navy Ground Set....Shields, Armor and Career-specific Kit. (Mission Reward, Iconian)
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Romulan_Imperial_Navy

Dang.... I just realized I need to quit dragging my feet and get to the Iconian story arc...really, really badly. LOL!

All my traits are optimized towards damage. Anything that improves assault weapons, energy damage, or aiming damage I use.

My ground spec is Commando, and that also has a aim damage buff as well as juggernaut system, which improves my survivability.

I can do advanced ground queues without too much difficulty. The only time I have a hard time is if I'm not sticking with the rest of my team.

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Captain_Specialization/Commando_skills

Scroll down to Juggernaut Systems which is Tier 2...it may be better explained in the game...

But I am not going to bother playing tag with the Servers this morning, just to sign in to look at it.
Maybe another time when things settle down in that arena. LOL!

F.Y.I.....Kit module boxes from Emperor's Lockbox is now at: 200,000 EC each....if you send inner Ferengi out shopping. They were at 225,000 if you don't.

I am not sure if they will get lower, they most likely will....depending on reviews. I think I will try the Ambush Turrets on a few characters. Maybe the Agony Field. I just bought everyone a Kilgat from the fleet...and reading and seeing what I would have to do to get the Spinner to hit, I think I will just pass on that one.

The traits from this box looks un-fun....so going to skip those. I know, one adds crits, but the slows you down part does not thrill me. I don't collect for crits, anyways.

(I sent Mim, my Ferengi character, to get the goods this morning)

I opened my boxes (gosh I like doing that....I banned myself from Master Keys LOL!)....got 3 of the Spinners.

I was going to sell them on the Exchange....but decided: eh, why not try them out on a few different characters? I do not play video games much, I should try out different ways that abilities work. I may as well learn something new.

spinner is really painful, def not a must have for every build though.

Due to it being a difficult module to target i figure that the spinner may have good synergy with some of the Intel kit modules.
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Dilithium_Store/Intel_Modules

    E.g.
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Site-to-Site_Ensnare
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Sonic_Suppression_Field
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Photonic_Decoy
There are some others in that list as well. Each has its pro and cons.
The spinner just screams ninja though.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Thought I better add this here while it is on my mind:
The Crystal Prism Universal Kit Module is an item that deploys a Crystalline Prism. This Prism will attack nearby enemies and will link together with nearby Prisms to increase each Prism’s damage. The Kit Module is an account unlock, and may be claimed by other characters on your account.
Hmm...is there a 10-man ground queue? Or maybe one of the battle grounds? I wonder how high this can go?

That new reward kit module looks like it has potential. The question is damage output, durability and cool down.

I can see groups piling this one on. I wonder if they are going to have to limit it to 5 link together or something like that.

For Kit and Kit Module-centric builds, I tend to default to the following setup:

Armor: Privateer's Combat Armor (Experimental Environmental Suit for when an environmental suit is needed)
    Shield: Tzenkethi shield
    Weapons:
    - Tzenkethi cannon
    - dealer's choice. Can be anything you want.
Kit Frame: anything, so long as it has at least a KPerf or a KCD mod, preferably both. My best one has KPerfx2 and KCDx2
    Traits:
    - Creative
    - Serenity
    - Field Technician
    - Technophile (occasionally)

Both the Privateer Armor and the Exp. Env. Suit privide a heft bonus to KPerf and KCD.
The two Tzenkethi items together give you a bonus to KPerf.
The Traits boost KPerf as well.
Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.

    Things I want in STO:

    1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
    2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
    3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
    4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
    5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
    6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
    7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
    8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

Psionic damage for the new kit modules. Looks like it'll be useful for engineers to keep sabotage as support ready.

OK... I grabbed the info for the Crystal Prism Universal Kit Module off of a video that I paused...so it is NOT very sharp...sorry about that.
    https://i.imgur.com/wSXlsn3.jpg

    Pahvan Crystal Prism
    Create Linked Turrets
Consume 1 charge to create a Crystal Prism:
    • Each Crystal Prism lasts 40 seconds
    • Links with your Prism within 20m
    • Refreshes Duration of Linked Prisms
    • Once per second, deals 62.5 Psionic Damage (+25% per Linked Prism)
Stores up to 3 Charges, Regains 1 charge per 15 seconds
    1.7 sec recharge.
I assume: "Crystal Prism" = fabricated unit
Looks like any unit within 20m are linked together. Linking will extend duration, too. Nice.

Each unit linked together adds to the Psionic Damage by 25%.
Psionic damage attacks ignore personal shielding and deal direct damage to health (hit points), but do not affect non-biological targets such as turrets.

Now, you have to watch for NPC Enemies getting the use of this ability.

    Resistance to Psionic damage:
The [Phase-Shifted Personal Shield], a reward from the mission “Skirmish”
The [Counter-Command Personal Shield] from the 8472 Counter-Command Reputation System (Tier 3).
The [Engineering Kit Module - Nanite Medical Generator] 8472 Counter-Command Reputation System (Tier 3).

Wiki on Psionic Damage (not sure how updated this is): https://sto.gamepedia.com/Damage_type_(ground)#Psionic

Wasn't there a crystal device that was a reward on one of the new Pavoh missions?
Here is it: Pahvan Healing Crystal
It gives the entire team hit points...and that should help with Psionic damage losses, somewhat.

Tilly spawns those Ambush Turrets......when Elite Terran Guards are fighting in Illusion of Communication
Do not get caught watching the paint dry when those get deployed....though you may not have a choice if you get stuck in plants.

    Those are frickin' nasty.
