    There are several posts reporting it but i'll add it in here also; FED transporter beam out sound isnt the "tap comm" sound.

    In both The Core of the Matter and Days of Doom, whenever the TOS music plays, it overlaps the regular music which doesn't stop. So, yes, we have yet another "overlapping music" bug.

    Agents of Yesterday, the sound effect for my own captain firing his TOS rifle wasnt working for a few missions. I changed it out, logged in and out, even different mark rifles wasnt fixing it. I can hear my away teams weapons firing next to me, but my weapons, and hand phaser wasnt making a sound. And later in the missions, I think my own ships phaser sounds werent going off either. Stopped playing for tonight. Didnt want to go through all the new content with glitchy weapons.

    Still cant hear own weapons, or beam out sounds. Fix this asap Cryptic, it was working just fine 2 days before AoY, so its not my sound card messing up.

    I keep losing the sound when playing my AoY Toon.
    It just drops out and I have to relaunch the game to get it back.

    Why are we even posting here if Cryptic wont look at or acknowledge the problems we're having? Just played the Babel mission, still the captains weapons sounds are playing very very low, like theyre on some secondary channel, while the away team weapons sound full volume and clear. Ive turned off the music even, no help, maxed all the sounds but notifications, no help. Please acknowledge this is a problem Cryptic, two updates, and still no fix. Dont even want to play this game the way this sounds, as it affects every toon I have, not just the AoY toon.

    +1 here..Also sometimes inm sector space beta quad I get random abrupt changes of the backgrund music on my AoY toon..AoY has too many bugs..

    5+1 sound problem - sound card ocassionaly switch output to 2+0 (stereo only). Always in space battle. Restart PC or disabling and re-enabling audio driver solve the problem. It is STO specific behaviour, other games works correctly.

    Got another one in the cardas story arc..The GORN on DS9 seem to have to hissing noises whilst talking and at random the music will go so soft, leaving you to wonder if its there, this randomly happens and especially when in combat where the alert suggestion audio goes along with it as well..

    NOTE: HAVE SEEN THIS ONLY ON MY AoY ALT till now..

    Well, I guess Im finally just done with this game after being a loyal player since 2010. My system has never had problems with this game like many others with systems foolishly under powered. But you guys wont even acknowledge the sound problem Im having, not hearing my own ground or ship toon firing its weapons, on EVERY character I own, in your official list of known problems, let alone attempt to fix it. This isnt some isolated issue that I can skip a mission or a weapon or something with, it affects my ENTIRE gaming experience. And it STARTED when AoY dropped, because my audio was fine when i played days before the new season. To me, this is a HUGE bug and I shouldnt be the only one having it. If you guys are just going to kiss off Windows 7 users (who are a HUGE part of your player base), then I guess you dont want our money any more. Ive waited out several patches and read patch notes, and I guess help for me isnt coming. All my audio drivers and everything else us up to date. You need to dig into your own code and figure out why my main weapon audio on ground and space sounds like its miles away, much quieter (and barely audible with sound way up) than the friendly and enemy ship weaponry firing off around me. Enjoy the last $50 a year average you all got from me since launch.

    Hi
    There is a bug when Intrepid Starship has no view pylons animation during goint to warp, and they are'nt change their position durin sectore space travel as they should be up. Another thing is no pylons glow with every starship during going to warp. And sound bug that makes fed human toon has Romulan transporter activation sound.

    Started experiencing a god awful crunching sound in light space combat about 4 ships which then goes on until you exit the map..It is truly awful and ruins immersion of the game plus during dialogues in space the NPC's are drowned..

    Update: Now even if I take on 3 ships using my beam array fire at will ability (PS: I use phaser beam arrays mkXII, if that helps) the sound is unbearable its going crunch crunch and super crunch forcing me to quit the session and exit the map....

    Here to issue an apology. I think. I was wondering why there wasnt public outrage over the bug I was having. Seems the problem was with me afterall. My PC speakers are sorta old, and do have wiring glitches where they cut out totally if wires aren't laying just right. Well, seems coincidentally with the release of AoY, perhaps one channel in my right speaker is on the fritz. Bizarre because it plays other things through it at full volume, but whatever channel the ownship and toon weapons plays out of, thats the glitchy channel. It finally dawned on me to test my speakers by plugging in my 5.1 surround headset, and in the headset, all weapon firing sounds play fine and at full volume. So for now, sorry Cryptic blamed you. Going out tonight after work to buy new PC speakers. If new speakers have the same glitch, I'll be back to put the blame back on you guys lol

    There have always been a couple areas in the game where I experience cracking noises. Mostly it's just areas in social zones in the vicinity of banks. I just played through the AoY Tholian Web mission and the audio was a mess. Persistent cracking with the VO cutting in and and out as well as sounding as though multiple tracks are simultaneously playing over top of one another.

    2 weeks ago, i began to hear a popping/cracking sound in the game. Not sure where i was when it happened but its constant. doesnt matter whats going on, if there is a sound, it cracks/pops. It almost sounds like my speakers are blown and i am trying to play sound through the speakers distorted. Its so bad that i just play anything in game but my music or videos i watch are just fine. Something is wrong. . .

    I have had popping / crackling since the Romulan Expansion.
    I know that it definitely occurs in the Romulan command centre (though it is quieter pops).
    I have had louder popping more recently even when turning off my audio.
    It might be a compatibility issue with my sound card, though i don't see why it would.

    I do not seem to have the issue with my fed or klingon. Or at least it is quiet enough for me not to care. The Romulan issue though is sort of ruining my enjoyment.
    I do not have any issues with any other games, and i have quite a few.

    I've noticed on my end that Terran reputation cannon weapons stop having visual/sound effects attached to them when Cannon: Rapid Fire is active.
    They do cycle and do damage, just go invisible/silent, while any other cannon weapons happily rapid fire at the same time.

    With this latest update, I have a harder time trying to enter the game and get stuck at the loading screen repeatedly. It is getting annoying. Please fix. Thanks.

    Haven't been able to access the game for longer than a few minutes since the original graphics update in October. Mostly it craps out after about 20 seconds and does weird twitchy things with the lighting while running. My laptop is admittedly old and is running an intel hd integrated graphics card, which worked fine until the update. In fact, Neverwinter runs nicely on it still. Is this game just lost to me until I can afford a new computer, or are there changes I can make other than loading in safe mode ( which isn't working)?

    You probably like many in this THREAD should also check Gameplay Bug Reports although yours is Graphical & Sounds issues related, you posted to Experiencing sound / audio bugs or issues? Post about them in here! :)

    actually the dx9 step is the last result if:
    reduced file streaming on and multi-core ren. off doesn't help

    I'm getting a weird crackling noise when I play the game, it's similar to the crackling when your headphones are not plugged in completely yet it only happens in STO, no other games or sites. It's not loud but it is annoying, especially when it's just one game that's doing it.

    I'm still getting sound drop-outs in sector space for background sounds and music. It get's worse when in UI for doffing, R&D etc. Been like this for months, and reported it before!

    It's started on me in 2018 after the pre-patch malakry of 8/4GB...or not long after. It's weird, I've never had such audio problems before and even after some audio options fiddling I have found no solution.

    Given anything else with audio is find on my computer I have to conclude that something STO has gone awry. Or Q is up to shenanigans 'cos you got rid of the Winter Event stuff and now he's bored again.

    I got a new wireless headset and now I have no sound in STO. The headset works find with every other game, video, and any other source of sound. I checked the audio options, and my headset shows up as the audio output. I turned all the audio up to 100%, still nothing. I tired turning the headset on after I got into game, the audio output showed that it had no sound driver. I hooked up my old wired headset and had sound without issue.

    As far as I can tell; I should have sound, but I don't.

    I just completely lost sound on STO today it worked fine every time I been on it I built a new character today that is all I have the very same headset no new update on my pc so not sure what the issue is and now I have no sound at all

    So I reinstalled STO and I got sound, on the main screen anyway. Now as soon as I log onto a character the sound cuts out.

    I logged into STO tonight to find that the game's sound effects had changed into a person making silly bee-bop noises for the different buttons we click in-game. I then notice listed above the "Enable Astromap" thing that there's a new choice to turn on/off "Artisanal Audio". What in the world is that?! Is this an April Fool's joke by the GM's, if so...Nice:)

    Since the update to ViL, there are 2 voiceovers that play at the same time when the Break Even hails your ship during the Training Cruise mission. There are still a couple of missing voiceovers that previously played but no longer do play, but will post about them later.

    Lots of noise bugs after Tenebris Torquent and Home driving me mad. The one after home is a series of bings? upon each space, sector and ground map transition along with fly-in text saying "Dropped mission: Gamma Quadrant".

    :'(

    I dunno if anyone is having this or they're just sucking it up and expecting a fix whenever. But I've never had this bug before in my years of playing...
  • i reinsalled the game and running it from steam then there is no sound in game at all... nothing is muted.. then i reinstalled the game again this time with the arc luncher and still same problem, no sound at all.. please help.

    I am having the same problem as well I have tried the -ignorex64check and updated all my drivers and still have no sound. a great game needs sound so If I can't get it to work and no one has any ideas then I will be uninstalling it. and never playing again.
