Indeed, they do what they can to keep this game going on a limited budget. Can't be easy with all the heckling.

I'll throw mine in as well.

You devs rock! Don't let anyone else say different.

And I'd also like to add thanks to the Community Moderators for keeping things ordered here on the forums.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

Hats off to the devs too. I've been playing this game since beta. There are many times I have thought about leaving the game, but the devs always deliver.

I've recently had the chance to become a moderator of a forum elsewhere, so i'm understanding how much crud the mods have to deal with these days. It is not an easy job to do, more so when you get one or two who are very much looking to play ignorant and start trouble, the abuse one can get is unbelievable simply because they are doing their jobs.

I can't imagine this being a full time job as a volunteer, more a relaxed setting with a few private forums and a seperate place to chat moderation. If anyone can manage to moderate this forum for a long enough amount of time (3 months or more) without it getting to them and do a good job, then yeah, they deserve all the praise they can get.

That is as far my praise goes on this forum.

I have to thank the devs for all the rare surprises I find in the game. Case in point I just happened to notice the idle animations when you or your away team holds their rifles. For the longest I saw it as static poses but now they hold them up , tilt the rifle at the side as if to inspect it and even aim in a direction, checking the barrel sights. A little thing but a really welcome surprise for me. :)
"There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life." - Ten Bears (Will Sampson)

I'll be the guy to say different. I'm no sycophant. I've seen a downward decline/slide when it comes to releases from the devs. In terms of quality, or detail, balances, bug fixes, or quality control. Along with communication. Much of the recent stuff appears to be phoned in, or incredibly flaccid on the simple stuff(generic bridges being the only option on the three of the 4 latest event ships, for example, and as far as I know, the Sarcoschlong ship still doesn't have its bridge in game. Maybe someone can prove me wrong). Or light on substance for heavy price, in the case of the EssTeeDee Operations bundle. Or the long embargo on Romulan Warbirds, or ships even. Or the Jem'Hadar not having veteran ships? How much do the "devs rock" now, when with the latest pack, Romulans don't even get a title? How much do the "devs rock," when they've been "coy" about the T6 Nova/Oberth/Ha'nom/Ha'feh, or absence of T6 KDF carriers? I won't praise or reward bad decisions. I won't glad-hand empty promises and false hope. And they definitely didn't rock with this announcement, unless you count rocking the boat in a bad way.

For some of the community managers/moderators, it's half and half. I enjoyed @baddmoonrizin 's memes when they used to pop up, but those are rare. I miss those. Those indeed, rocked.

quite honestly i saw the change in cryptic towards the end of last year but some people decided to attack me rather than actually looking at what is going on, i left it at that. I mentioned in the broadstrokes that releasing one episode per 3-6 months seems like the developers aren't putting all their effort into it like they have in the past. i also noticed a large amount of cloned ships as well as if the developers have lost their creativity and with the recent discovery content leads me to believe they aren't as serious as they were at building up STO like they were a few years ago.

if the upper management actually listened to someone outside of PWE and CBS for a moment, i'd tell them to take a step back and look at where they are going and what they got to look forward to. i'd suggest they have their own game universe they can build out for STO that doesn't require them to constantly stick to canon sources. I know the developers can work miracles, they always do, but my issue stems from the upper leadership in Cryptic who make the choices for STO and so far it looks like a trainwreck incoming.

Congrats on listening and using the brain. That's what makes a great product (or part of it, at least).
