For a couple of days I have gone back and forth on if I should ask this, because I don't want anyone to think I'm bragging (I swear I'm not).
I always open 20 lock boxes from each different version, including Infinity boxes. I do it for the dilithium mining claims, reputation and fleet credit boosts, to save Lobi crystals, and, frankly, just for the fun of it.
The other day I won a Tier 6 ship from the Infinity box for the first time since Infinity came out. I chose the Engle, because as it's a new option with an interesting feature and I thought if I decided to sell or trade, it might be worth a decent amount.
Now I'm asking for your thoughts or advice on what you would do if this were your situation...
I could use it for my Fed tac who flies escorts, but I just got him the Lafayette Recon Destroyer and he's not even done with the ship mastery, so he doesn't need a new ship. Also, this would not allow for the use of the scaling feature, watering down a selling point of the ship.
I could sit on it until a new character can use it (utilizing it's scaling feature), but I just leveled two characters recently and have no current plans to roll a new toon just to use a ship (although admittedly I might, since lately rolling new characters has become a fun thing for me.)
Or I could sell it or trade for another ship. I've been eyeing the Tier 6 Temporal science vessel for my KDF science character, as it's been a while since she's gotten a new ship, but I haven't had the opportunity yet. Now suddenly, I do. But is it silly to waste this potential the Engle has?
The ship looks really nice, and if I actually keep it, I'm sure I'd enjoy it. I'm just not sure what to do.
I'd appreciate any thoughts, opinions, advice, or ideas to consider.
Thank you in advance.

Keep it. This was originally meant to be a Prime Universe Engle, but was changed to a Mirror Universe Engle. When the Prime Engle comes out, you may be glad to have kept the Mirror Engle if the consoles are made part of a set.

I used to do this (but stopped this year) & I never got any ship. And I've been here since the game launched.
Seeing how prices seem to be dropping pretty fast lately, I'd say sell it for the current price (300M ?), and buy it back when it hits 200M. If you don't want it RIGHT NOW!!! then wait a bit and make 100M EC in the process.
Of course the price may just skyrocket for some strange reason, but I wouldn't think so.

Trick is to never go for the ship
But seriously I literally have only open boxes with no care about the ship once and got a ship, I was opening Tal Shiar boxes back when the box launched for some leaches...and I got the destroyer.
In all that time that is the only time I ever got a ship.

I can't see them connecting a lock box ship and a c-store ship into sets...I'm sure that will bring up a lot of headaches with all the people complaining.

A ship that has nothing to do with lock boxes at all and was part of a special promotion?
Which I'm sure caused a lot of stink just like with the T6 Nagas Marauder?
So, you want to get technical over the method of delivery? It's still a limited availability ship, which has a console that's part of a set with its respective C-Store ships. And yes, I'm sure that there are those that aren't happy about that. You bring up the Nagus Marauder, but it's not necessary for the set its console is in, as the D'Kora console works in the same slot in that set, but that's also a Lockbox ship paired with an Event ship. All 3 of those limited availability ships as well. Point is, it has been done before, it could be done again. Anyway, it was just speculation, but nothing beyond the realm of possibility.

Yeah, i thought about that, but i already leveled a Disco toon using the Walker and now Europa...i guess he could hop into the Engle, but again, i miss the chance to level it from the tutorial.

Sure these leveling ships are (needlessly) super OP at the lower levels, but I enjoyed getting a new ship every promotion. Why'd you want to stick in the same ship all the way from start to finish?

For me personally, swapping all my equipment is a real pain, especially when I do it almost every day while leveling

Just easier...same boff build so you don't have to worry about switching things around if you level fast...plus it allows you to pick up just science ships for admiralty.
From what I read, they improved on the leveling aspect of the Mirror Engle from the leveling Walker. Slots unlocking as you level up, rather than fully available from the get go.
Tempted to try to obtain this ship myself to be honest - that console looks like it'd benefit one of my sci character's very nicely and the BOFF/console layout does offer some fair options for sci (Lt-Cmdr Sci and Lt-Cmdr Universal/Temporal.
In fact, pair that console with 'Black Alert' could be REAL fun!
I agree, the ship looks really fun. After reading the responses I'm leaning toward sitting on it for a while. Let's face it-I'll probably end up rolling another character who could use it at some point. I'm becoming an alt-oholic.

I had a friend that just started playing the game, and he is loving it. We are having so much fun playing missions together, that we didn't realize it was 7 am till one of us took a bathroom break. We started playing at 10 pm.
I have a bunch of other characters that are level 50+. But since this is his first character, if I had the ship, I would gift it to him. We play a lot of games together, and when one of us joins a game the other had already been playing, we help the other one out.
So, what I would do is probably not what most would want to do with a ship this expensive. I would give it to a friend that could benefit from it. Most people will sell it if not use it.
