Ground/Space Mechanics for Random TFO's?

Any new information on whether they(Devs) are working on a full separation of Ground/Space Abilities/Traits/Specializations to make Random TFO's easier to do?

Sadly communication as to what adjustments are in the pipe is a bit low.

They do make adjustments constantly but unfortunately critical issues are addressed rarely and not much finds its way into the patch notes.

Traits are completely locked on PvE/fleet maps and no filter for ground space selection is there for random.

What does work however is the option to not only switch loadouts but entire ships on the actual PvE map which is amazing considering that trait adjustments remain not allowed.

I also had to notice the other day that RTFO even work as full 5 man private group where the system selects maps for you then. Will need to experiment a bit with this and see if the ground/space filter works there at least.

I know its small comfort but the only recommendation I can give is to seek out such private groups for PvE (even randoms) to make them more enjoyable.

We do em in my fleet often and there is also the league. All in all a good pool of players to choose from. If you like I can invite you to our channels to tend to RTFO together. :)

To my knowledge, there are no such plans. RTFOs are working as intended.

There is already seperation for Space and Ground traits, including Reps. The Rep powers are the only thing not seperated. As for Specs, pick two Primary capable specs, and you're covered when you're doing RTFO's.

If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

My specializations for Ground are totally different to my specializations for Space, So I am not being effective in one or the other and we could use the separation of the Rep powers between Ground and Space.

In my case, I always roll Intel/Strategist whether I'm doing RTFO or not. On advanced, I find that I'm still able to one shot most things on ground content even though I lack commando. I'm sure that the reverse wouldn't be true in space as my space build is much more dependent on my specs compared to my ground build. Therefore, I spec for space.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

What if we didn't have to do that? Wouldn't that be nice? I watched their(Devs) live stream and they mentioned Specs and Rep Powers being separated for RTFO's but didn't have time to do it. Just curious if that was something they are still looking to do or not. I usually use Command/Commando for ground sometimes Temporal/Commando and in space I usually use Intel/Strategist or Temporal/Strategist.

If they would just allow you to change your primary/secondary specialization at the starting of a mission, I would be happy.

Most of my builds are pretty much set up for Ground or Space, I just would like to be able to select Commando as my Secondary on ground maps.

Not knowing what content I may end up doing had me set up a balanced build for ground or space long before rTFO's were a thing. Switching things around was already tedious enough.

that is why I've always used balanced builds, and I've never had the problems people are always complaining about with needing to switch things around all the time. even before they separated ground and space traits. which I still think was a mistake.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Not having to switch things around would be awesome, It would help my immersion in the game! Balance builds is great for those wanting to just play and have fun. I like to tweak my builds to be the most effective with the highest DPS and so on. You can't do that with Strategist as your Secondary Specialization when running Ground RTFO's or Commnado as your Secondary Specialization when running Space RTFO's.

Per comments on the dev livestream last night: they're looking into systems to help with the problems of ground/space spec'ing. No announcements as to what that might be because the matter is in active development and anything they say now may be changed in the near future or never come to fruition (in the worst case) depending on how actual development goes (which is only sensible. For examples of talking candidly about things in active development and how that can backfire for games, developers and communities see. Peter Molyneaux.)

However, separating RTFO's into Ground/Space has been ruled out as that would defeat the purpose of RTFO's in helping queues across the board become more playable.

Thanks for the information, I knew someone would know something! Thanks!

Which is all the more reason it should have been addressed already.
