Vanguard Sponsorship Problems

bmcd73bmcd73 Member Posts: 263 Arc User
I have a vanguard JH. I have all the reps completed. I am trying to create a sponsorship token in Omega (one that was filled out). But the project doesn't exist. I've read this is a bug and also this is working as intended. Is there an official word on this? I have a ton of Omega marks and want to sponsor another toon with my VJH.

Sponsorship is now automatic once you reach T5. There is no Reputation Project for it anymore.

Sponsorship is automatic now. You should see that after logging into your toon that has Tier 5, your other toons now have 5000 XP projects instead of 2500.

Don't bother with them. They will be obsolete when AoD drops on the 19th as once you hit T5, sponsorship will be an account-wide, automatic unlock.

Ugh...I just made about 100 sponsorship tokens last night. Have I just totally blown 10,000 marks for no reason? Are they refundable or worth anything? I still have them.

    They are absolutely worthless.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

I think it is a good change...but it doesn't make me happy that I just dumped 10k marks. That's a ton of wasted effort.

This change has been advertised widely for months. They're not refundable, and I don't think Cryptic are going to do anything to allow folk to convert them back, as they made this announcement so long ago now, literally 2 months before AoD dropped on the PC.

Hmm. Why would you need all those sponsorship tokens? Had you not already sponsored your alts & gotten them to T5?

(I had one sponsorship token lying around, but that's because I'd been testing, before AoD, whether I could 'sponsor' my original character to get them the double-rep bonus)

I have 11 alts. I made them all last night for the alts. Created a spreadsheet to track, etc etc. Spent a bunch of time just creating everything not to mention how long it took to get that many marks.

I play on the XB1. I look at the news nearly every day. While I don't pay a ton of attention to the PC stuff anymore I do occasionally read it. The XB1 news and updates is not as good as the PC. We are mainly an afterthought. I'm pretty plugged into this game and I have never heard this before. Searches on this still talk about it like it is a bug. If someone like me that is more informed than the average player can miss this than anyone can. This should be part of any good design decision. This is kinda a big deal and something that I think players would be very excited about. I just looked back on all the AoD XB1 announcements and I now see a single sentence in a Nov 2nd post. I read this announcement and missed this line. It's on me that I missed it but a QoL change this big should have had a bit more press than a single line in a post a week ago.

On the bright side if you've not levelled them with romulan rep you won't get screwed out of the t5 reward that was locked behind the tedium of new romulus and the buggy ruins mission at the end.
