My nicor is turning out to be fun with dual heavy cannons. It's a tad more tanky than most of my escorts, but still have the forward fire power. I also like the boff seating.
Is there a t6 ship (fed) that has similar performance? Trades a bit of manuever for a bit of tanky?

I'm gonna disagree with this, the chonos has very little in common with the nicor.
the Theseus Temporal Escort at fleet level is far closer.
your not gonna find a perfect match til cryptic makes a t-6 nicor which may not happen for quite some time if ever.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
That said, it is hard to kill.
You're looking for something tough but maneuverable.. something that can run cannons and move well but still take a beating right?
While there is no 'perfect match' since there is no T6 version of that ship you can really just try and get as close as possible. One option might be the Hazari Destroyer. Not a perfect match but it's close..it does have more firepower but probably won't be quite as tanky.
If you're looking C-Store for a fed there is always the Arbiter Battlecruiser which honestly brings an unmatched balance of toughness and firepower. If you use the bundled console it's a 'get out of jail free' card that can save you with the click of a button. Combine it with something like the Protomatter console from the Lukari Event ship and it's full commander Engineering station and you can tank for days in this thing. It has 5 forward weapons, great for cannons and while it's 9 turn rate is lower then you're used to it's still easy enough to keep cannons on target. I fly one in a cannon build and I am honestly not the best cannon pilot at all.. but I am still able to keep it on target easy enough. All this doesn't even take into account the fact that it has one of the best traits in the game. It's one of the few ships in STO I consider a 'must have.'
If you're looking to do cannons, I really recommend something with 5 forward weapons. It's not required.. obviously you're already doing just fine with 4, but 5 forward really helps take powerful cannon builds and push them over the top. If you're willing to go something bigger and slower but tough and powerful then the Kelvin Intel Dreadnought is an option to consider. It's power is pretty much unmatched on the Fed Side.
Other ships to consider are the Maquis Raider which won't be nearly as tough as the Nicor but will clear a map in seconds, or the T6 NX Refit which might just be the perfect Escort/Destroyer. They're both Lobi ships, so it's best to acquire them from the Exchange.
If none of those fit your need, we can keep looking.
If that's the description we're going for, I'd like to suggest another Lobi ship in the form of the Klein Temporal Destroyer.
It fits all of the quoted requirements and, in my opinion at least, is one of the best-looking ships in the game if that's a consideration.
Lobi ships (and things for 250M on the exchange) are really not in my budget right now. I was looking at the krenim imperium warship on the wiki - it seems to fit well, but again, too rich for my blood right now.
Looking at a lot of things (more than just this thread), all my roads seem to lead to the battlecruiser pack (arbiter, kurak, morrigu), as I have 2 mains, and will level my rommie at some point. They are all good ships, have a great trait, and a useful console. Just levelling the arbiter will make my nicor better.

P.S. The thing I like about the nicor is that it seems to fit my flying style well. I do fine in escorts, but I do blow up a lot. In the nicor, I seem to get away to range 10 (and thus safety) with <10% hull and no shields rather than blow up. So it's just maneuverable enough, and just tough enough, for what I want.
P.P.S. I definitely understand and agree with the 5 gun advice. That's where I've been looking.
However i feel the Eclipse also deserves a mention:

Less bulky than other cruisers, but enough tricks up its sleeves to hit hard.
The console also offers a nice bit of survivability:

For what it's worth, I really think that Battle Cruiser pack is a fantastic choice.. to me it's the best pack in the C-Store. It's 3 really great ships with useful consoles and great traits. People here know I am always hyping these ships and perhaps I have a bias, I am just convinced they're great ships. Rather you do Drake Builds, Aux2Bat, run Beams, Cannons.. whatever.. they can do it and they're among the best at all of it.I think you'll be really happy with that purchase. It will make all of your characters better and as you said.. even if you end up not liking the Arbiter for some reason, you can use the Trait on your Nicor.
I have an Engineer that runs a Fleet Arbiter using Cannons and it's a great ship, always fun to fly. She isn't really built to do massive damage, but she can still clear maps with ease in the Arbiter. She's also tough as nails in that ship and doesn't blow up much at all. The ship just has a really good balance of power and durability. I hope you like it.

The new lafayete?
The T6 version is pretty cheap if you watch the market and it has all of what you want i think, plus it has a universal Lt Cmdr seat that could aid with the survival or be swapped to sci or tac if you found you were not dying too much. It's pretty nippy for an escort too, though not up to raider levels obviously.
Not yet there isn't. But with the next infinity lockbox due in a month it may get an upgrade then, you just never know.
Only things left to update are the Tholian, Hirogen, Undine and Voth boxes.
I'm guessing the tholian and voth boxs are higher priority then hirogen and undine, actually considering there was a little drama about the undine ships when they first come out it wouldn't sutprise me if they are the last thing to get updated.
