I REALLY want the D4x... But it's so expensive. I'm space poor.

That said, I think I may be one of the crazy ones. I dabble in big heavy beam boats in occasion with my alt. But at the end of the day I love nimble ships with cannons.

I am glad there are others that are spearheading the glorious path. If I ever get that ship I'll join you. I'm sure I'll need the help. I don't think the pilot raptor layout will translate directly.

Don't let the price of the D4X scare you off; the C-store Kor is a very capable ship, and thanks to its enhanced battle cloak is actually a better platform as a torpboat or sci-raider. In many ways it's a more finesse ship - the D4X is better as a direct attack ship, with its pilot maneuvers and 5 forward weapons, but the Kor excels in others.

I'm flying the Kor, and love it more than my others. Its dual purpose, keeping 3 heavy dual cannons for and one turret aft, but I keep the quantum torps, an epic Crystalline Torp in fore, and Advanced Radiant torp aft.

If you're going to use cannons for PVE, the Kor is absolutely essential (even if for nothing else) for the Withering Barrage trait, which extends the duration of Cannon Scatter Volley.

I managed to get a hold of a D4x. While everyone wants to buy big whales and disco ball away, I'm focusing my efforts on dog fighting. All guns all the time! Though it would be nice if the Nausicaan entoiled set had cannons, because I would certainly use the three piece. But alas.... Perhaps it's better to be able to just transfer most of my old gear.

The damage is nice, I'm a bit softer than the raptor. But I'm working on my piloting and my button layout to get quicker.

Using the emergency holographic conn Doff with EPTE and evasive maneuvers make for crazy ride. Almost too fast.

I think the D4X is probably the only ship I will fly from now on, I love it so much. When I play my Fed alt these days I nearly fall asleep with my big old beam boat. The intel/raptor rear arc damage is awesome and the pilot maneuvers allow you to get an extra cycle of cannon fire right where it hurts most! It's so zippy and turns on a dime.

If there is some organized BoP League stuff happening, I'd be happy to participate if I'm online. (timezone GMT+2) Looks like some great Badlands fun was had from those screenshots :) Is there a chat channel to join?

I'm wondering if the balance changes could see a bit of a renaissance for BoPs in PVP.

Other threads have noted that with SNB now a Lt Cdr Sci ability, the ideal platform will be a battle-cloaking, Sci-capable ship with strong forward weapons.

Hmmm. List of ships with 4 forward weapons, battle cloaks, and the option of Lt Cdr sci slots... is short. Oh, then factor in enough agility to chase down an opponent if they run while SNB'd.

Anyone for resurrecting the Ker'rat wolfpacks?

Factor in changes being made to cannon cycle time as well as Rapid Fire and scatter volley, things are going to be shaken up a little for my BoP. Changes to my cannons are very interesting.

I never quite got into the FaW/ embassy meta, so nothing changes in that front.

Miracle after miracle. Klingon Science Vessels. PvP Season.

    And now this:
If the player has purchased the B'Rolth Bird of Prey, the player can now use its parts on the Kor and T6 B'rel Birds of Prey.

The end of the world is nigh', I tell you.

no sense panicking tell we know the fix actually works... wouldn;t be the first cyptic fixed something and it wasn't fixed. besides this was probably was a easy fix they just got around to doing. if the Kar'Fi ever gets fix then we panic.

and I still want my crazy hobo uniform/costume.

Edit: well it did work, and a B'Rolth with a few kor bits, type 4 hull and the counter command visuals is down right evil looking.

Also, tests on Tribble suggest that Raiders (at least the B'Rel and the Temporal Raider) will have Heavy Weapon Slots. ( @patrickngo )

Note that on Tribble it might require some relogging and map changes before the heavy weapon slot appears on your ship, at least for existing character. Head to the Dilithium Reclaim Store to get an actual gun (There is some Ion Cannon type weapon in there, with placeholder-looking Icon.)

It looks a bit dumb, though, as Omni-Weapons tend to, and it doesn't help that the Kor is one of the smaller ships in the game where beams tend to look disproportional large.

The B'rel is such a beautiful ship, I didn't ever alter it's hull other than sometimes using the cannons of of the Kor.

Still cool for those who want to Franken-ship.

Morning, I'm the proud owner of a D4X, always looking to improve my build and looking for more and better ways to bloody the nose of any FED player - Could I please join the chat channel @delaroma1 so I can help out.

    Cheers

I have the T6 Kor and the Fleet T6 B'rel. I would be interested in giving this a try. Although the Bird of Prey is not my favorite Klingon ship, I would like to give this a go. Thanks for posting!

Is it wrong to necro my own thread? I don’t believe so.

After a year of playing this game on life support mode (graduating college and moving across the country kinda does that) I am returning to playing again on a more regular basis. Fear not brave BoP Pilots, for once more we shall blot out the skies with our ships and rain down destruction on our enemies!

Hmmm.... I love BoPs....but don't play in groups.

Good luck getting this together, though. :)

A shame. Getting a 5 man BoP Team together to run STFs or the Battlezones is a blast

It shouldn't be that difficult, now.

They just opened up most all of the Allied ships to the Romulan faction (there is a tiny list of ships where Roms are locked out of).

So, between Allied ships of Fed and KDF flavors....and the Romulan's collection of SRO's.
There is no point in keeping this in the Klingon Discussion folder.

You should plan on playing with Rommies and be a Rommie yourself.

Only old holdouts, like me, will even be strictly Klingon.

OH, and you seen the stuff about the new Faction: Jem'hadar? And with that expansion, they are adding Cardassian race to both KDF and FED sides.

I have been trying to avoid the volumes of "stuff" coming out about the new expansion called "Victory is Life". I'd like a bit of, well, surprise and a chance to uncover things for myself, you know.

But I am sure you can find how and where they improved the game for that faction.....somewhere in the forums, Reddit or You Tube. I am pretty sure the min/max folks are tallying and testing it up, even as we "speak", on Tribble.

Wow the salt here has gotten worse since I left. Despite this, I am certain there are still proud Klingons willing to fight.

    This actually isn't "salt". LOL!
It is the reality of what is going on these days.

And it sucks. But really...make a NEW POST and re-title it as "Raider/BoP League" and see if you can make a go at it. Put it up on the General Discussion folder to get the most eyes on it.

Eventually, you will be given a very specific shopping list of all the stuff you "need" and send you off to upgrade and find and buy....to make that Raider "work properly".

And I am going to presume, making a character in whatever faction becomes the new "hotness" will be involved.

After the expansion drops, I may get back into playing. I changed my BoP build to torps after the "rebalancing," just got sick of trying to make unintended things work well, and went to canon-ish builds for hahas.

I just got the new bop although I think the lc command/universal was not intended but would be cool to just leave it that way.

    This sounds interesting.

    I'll have to ask.

    1. Is this a PvP or PvE oriented league? I'm a PvE player and PvP doesn't really "trek" me out.
    2. Can one join this league without leaving their fleet? I'm in a fleet with some happy folks and things are going pretty well.
    3. I got a KDF Reman. Infiltrator anyone?
    4. I only have the Breen T6 Raider. And a Baltim on a fed toon. Both don't have cloaking devices, so they don't count. What's the cheapest effective T6 BoP that a reman kdf could put his hands on? (non c-store)
    5. I like the idea of the CRF decloaking BoP in PvE. It's way more effective than given credit for.

    Waiting on your replies.

Post owner, returning to the thread (and the game).

It’s been a while since I last played, but have returned recently as no one can ever truly escape this game. With my return, I am once again pushing forward on the BoP League. Anyone interested in grouping up and running as a team of Raiders let me know. I’ll get you added to the chat and we can get to BoPing.
  • casualstocasualsto Member Posts: 672 Arc User
I've massed a really solid list of raiders:
    - Maquis Raider - Federation Tactical
    - Baltim Raider - Federation Tactical
    - Scout ship (science lukari raider) - Federation Science
    - Scout ship (science vulcan raider) - KDF Science
    - Fleet M'chla Pilot Raider - KDF/KDF-Rom Tactical
    - Breen T6 Raider - Federation-aligned JHVD

I can't really afford the D4x or the Miradorn Raider , even if it would fit the best way on the KDF tactical (klingon).

How many people are in this league and ...are they KDF/FED or both?
  • revanindustriesrevanindustries Member Posts: 508 Arc User
Good questions. It appears many of the old timers have also since left the game. That being said, I’ll need to do another check through to see how many are still active. As for faction, this was initially only for Red Side, but if you have blue toons that have Raiders too I’ll be fine having them along.
