Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

However: "Players which have purchased this item prior to this update to Holodeck will automatically receive 7 additional tokens to the 1 that came with the original purchase for a total of 8 to make up for the mistake." is a decent make-up by Cryptic to those that have already purchased the Elite Starter Pack as long as the tokens are account-wide.
I'm still not even thinking of purchasing that Elite Starter Pack though since reading about all the turmoil it has caused. Nice of Cryptic to offer something for purchase knowing some players won't receive the full value of it.
Yes, retrain tokens are account wide.
In other words...I have 12 retrain tokens...any of the 13 characters I have, has access to them.

Some are, some aren't. All of the ones with this pack are. However, characters leveled while subscribed ALSO have individual Retrain Tokens, gained as a perk of subscription.
Example: I have nine characters. Three were leveled while subscribed. My main had 7, my second had 9 and my third had 8 Retrain Tokens left before purchasing this pack. My other six characters (all leveled while NOT subscribed) each showed 2 Retrain Tokens before purchasing this pack.
After purchase, my main shows 8, my second 10, and my third 9 Tokens, and my other six characters each show 3. That's from one account bound Token turning up with the purchase. MANY THANKS to Cryptic for tomorrow's patch, which will add 7 more account bound Retrain Tokens for those of us who bought this pack and didn't get the other 4 Tokens which were advertised. So instead of 5, we'll wind up with 8! Nice compensation to your customers!
So tomorrow, my Main will show 15, My second 17, my third 16, and everyone else 10. Most are account bound, while my first three characters ALSO have individual Retrain Tokens earned while leveling. I think the ones we got when the Skill Revamp went live were also individual, but I don't remember for sure.
Yeah, Kael you are converting it from UTC not Pacific.
As for the retrain tokens, I have never used or purchased one before, so if 5 came with that pack, where would I look to find them? I looked in my bank, inventory, and that new account bank, and did not see them. I looked in the C-store and I see retrain tokens listed under services but it says not enough zen to buy them. Where do I look to see the retrain tokens? TNX

Okay, of course I have to see this in effect before I can make a final comment, but if it's anything like the one in Neverwinter - and it sounds like it - then this is gong to make most of the player base severely annoyed. Think Temporal Agent Whatshisname popping up on log in, except on every single toon and with no way of making him go away at all. That's going to become very irritating, very quickly for those who has a lot of toons.
Not just that, this one to all appearances will pop up on log out too. Which sounds... weird. But it might make sense once I see the interface. Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic here.
At least the one in Neverwinter closes the second you start moving. It's one of the rare cases where I prefer the way Neverwinter handles its UI.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
What exactly is on this landing page? Is it basically an ad for stuff you can buy in the game? Does it appear when you switch characters too? And there's no way to disable it? If so, it's going to get annoying really fast. I guess we'll find out after the patch.
@frtoaster See that is what I don't know, which is why I said I had to see the landing page in effect before making a final decision on it. But, if it's a copy/past of the one in Neverwinter it's a mix of adds and messages about game relevant info. Like right now one of the items on the "landing page" over there is about the change to the upgrade system. Which admittedly happened months ago, but it's a significant change and sometime people are gone for a while. But there are also adds.
In Neverwinter there is no way of disabling it at least that I know of. But then, over there all it takes to get rid of an UI pop up like that is moving. Like, take one step forward and it's gone.
It pops up on first log on for each character, but on further character changes it doesn't appear. But then again, the Neverwinter one doesn't appear on log off either and by the sound of it STO's will. Don't know how much further they've changed things.
But again. Until I actually see the page and see what it contains - such as maybe making players aware of ongoing or upcoming events where you right now have to access the calendar to get that info - I can't say for certain if this is going to be good, bad, or a mix of the two.
I would in any case dearly love a way of disabling it.

Since I haven't played Neverwinter in about 3 years I'm still not sure what exactly this will be. I do play Champions Online though, and every time I log in a character, there's this box that has info about CStore items, events running and the like. This "Landing Page" sounds like the same TRIBBLE, and if it is, I PRAY there is a way to disable it because it's is more an annoyance than a benefit to me.
It might be good for new players to get this type of info, but once you "get it" let us disable it. And for those of us who have been here a while, I'm sure a lot of us don't want to be reminded of stupid TRIBBLE like queues and such. We know.
