Tem. Spec Tree on Prim. , what meens no " oneshoot " anymore,.. Zahl Cruiser Trait.. so you got 8 Sec. even on 0% Hull to fix it. Maybe you also use Failsave Scramble ( pers. trait ) , you " scramble " everyone in 10 km Range if you get under 20% Hull, what meens you got a bit time to do something about it.

If you got still some Zen.. buy Saggitarius Class, Shieldoverload give you 75% Res on Hull and Shields.. also the Console DPRM is importent.. you got 95% Hull Res and a hugh Hull Reg.. nobody will kill you at that time if you do it right. You can do a lot.. . ofc it cost Money.. but hey.. PvE Builds cost also a lot of Money if you want max. it out.. same for PvP.

What i try to say, if you want you can do allways something. Its not a diffrent to PvE.. you need just other Stuff for PvP.
Point is.. you can play PvE with PvP Gear/Traits etc. but you can not play PvP with PvE stuff.

    Anyway..

Dead wrong about PvE..You can do elite quite easily without the shinies..But if your out chasing records then you need to invest..But for doing elite you can easily do it with a T5 properly configured..When I left the game in 2012 there was no BS like chasing DPS records or stuff like that..It was good old fashioned recreational fun and laughs when the odd guy blew up..Even now there arent alot of morons in 75% of the player base who are DPSer going you dont have an ambition or **** like that..If we recognize a dipshit that is going AFK we dont throw a tantrum, and press on and max out the damage between us cause we know if he doesnt meet the 2% bracket he'll be out for 2 hrs and thats it no more thinking beyond that..

PvP with a T6 loaded with HP and SHP and resists sitting at an average of 50% in a cruiser and an ENG toon is a definte no go because PvP is dominated by only SCI and a small portion of TAC's and the entry level is so damn high for even players wanting to return after 6 years..I am willing to spend my money but not on 25% of the game since what I have currently given by the game is good enough to do elite stuff and the other 75% of the game and keep me entertained and a diversion from real life on an off day and on holidays..

-Also some PvPer in these very forums saying PvP is a cash cow, to which my response is, what development has PvP seen since 2012 Vs the development in the rest of the game with the latest JH faction being introduced and new maps, ques and sector space battlezones?
-One PvPer told me in these very forums, to go into Kerrat under cloak and record and study the players, what a brilliant idea for a fed toon, basically I need to start a kling or Rom toon that can cloak indefinetly and sit and record the session and then later study that one or two or whatever number of players without knowing the build?
-Also like some other PvPer again in these very forums said "you dont have an ambition to kill your opponent", shows the mindset and level of thinking to say that Killing needs to be an ambition in video games..Lol..

When I left in 2012 because of real life priorities and building my real life career, PvP wasnt in this state at all..Now you cant even enter Kerrat without being vapped in seconds by a SCI toon..PvP is unbalanced and the creep is ridiculous to the extent 100K+ hull is done in seconds..And plenty of PvPers saying ENG's in cruisers are a no go in PvP and I have also observed this fact..Back in 2012 I could take my ship that I got from the progression and just get into PvP or PvE no peoblems, now its become you have to have a specific ship, specific career and high end gear and gear sometimes outta reach for casual players, to do any PvP..There is no balance otherwise anyone from their chosen faction and classes could take whatever ship they had and played either PvP or PvE and had raw fun and not this lob sided stompings vs casuals which currently goes on..

What really put me off after returning and giving PvP a try was that it was more like a job instead of being entertaining and overall elitist attitude of the PvP community here..

I have tried searching YT for decent videos on builds which explain every aspect but there arent when you compare it to the reamaining 75% of the player base where you can easily find players spending more than half an hour going over every once of their builds suggesting options for budget players in F2P or LTS or subs..PvP videos are like look what we can do to DPSers in PvP and not sharing a build or advices on building ships like as if its a secret of some government covert operation..

So @daviddxx as per your statement if you dont play PvP, IT MAKES YOU SICK? And basically by the same statement you say that 75% of the player base sickenss you in STO..Fantastic, thats your view then..Then why are you here when there are many other MMO's with much better and serious PvP enviroments..Wow!! Get a real life, a family and a job and then when you have a **** up day in the office then see what makes you sick..This is a game for ENTERTAINMENT we pay for to unwind or liesure, not a job..

@patrickngo I have read most of your comments and agree that there are issues on both sides of the player base and respect it, but it needs to be noted that the elitist nature of the PvP side outweighs the remainder of the elitist in the rest of the game by a fair bit and that is also an underlining problem..

Anyways this is my opinion..And the last ever time I am gonna try PvP in STO..It aint worth it cause of my points above, which in short are
-Absolutley no balance after 2012 assuming..
-No real help with builds going in details..
    -Not conducive for casual players..
-Cost of entry for returning and new players is ultra high along with the creep..
-No place for engineering toons and people in cruisers..
    -The ultra high elitist attitude..
-The mindset of the PvP base to say you need to have ambition to kill and others make them sick and that PvP funds the game..

Again My opinion on PvP currently vs 2012..

I just want to point out one thing...

The elitists are all that's left after seven years of Cryptic's management, because that's who Geko chose to cater to back in 2011 when they sacked Gozer.

You get the audience you cater to, and the good community that was here with things like PvP bootcamp, the community that was casual-dominated etc. in 2012 was run off quite intentionally, just like how they catered to the 'record' guys in PvE and how they adopted a selling-powercreep cycle for the business model as the monetization strategy.

Basically, what you're seeing now, is the result of years upon years of mismanagement and catering to the minmaxers, twinks, n00bkillaz, basically the asshats that Geko presumes anyone with even a peripheral interest in pvp consists of.

but I'll disagree on one point; PvE's screaming ranty trolls vastly outnumber and outweigh,in percentage, raw quantities and sheer vitriol anything seen even in the WORST of the PvP community.

These are the people who were posting death threats to the Dev twitter and facebook accounts when the Tau Dewa skillpoints scandal broke, or when a known exploit's been addressed. There's literally no comparison in the in-game chat, either. Even the worst n00bkillaz out there won't sit there in open chat recommending you commit suicide for parsing too low in something as petty as ISA, or spamming your inbox, or reporting you for no reason in hopes of getting you banned.

That's all in PvE land, my friend-that, and worse.

and Cryptic's management strategies encourage it even while the terms of service forbid it.

but, it's the community that Cryptic's chosen to cater to-their 'chosen people' if you will.

Oh totally, blame the community for mismanagement of the game. TOTALLY our fault. Yeah.

    Get out of town xD
    I need a beer.

    @patrickngo Spot on..

In another thread in the PvP section some guy is saying let the PvE community rot, then another thread some guys saying force people to PvP..I have never seen this kind of a toxic level till now and if I go through the thread under PvP I am scared I will find alot more such comments..This is also another reason I have decided to never return to such a toxic side of a game and ruin my head by morons..Yes there are a few in game on the PvE side but not this toxic to say a community should rot, people should be forced to play, and the ultimate you dont have ambition to kill..THIS IS WHAT HAS DRIVEN ME OFF..Sad but true..I miss pre 2012 where we didnt have these many dicks running around but had helpful people who would help with standard stuff, plenty of examples in these threads of PVP of that 2012 era..

@patrickngo did you ever post the Vanilla PvP requirements anywhere? Is it in the forums and can I still find them?

guys this has long since gone off course. having opinions and being passionate about them is fine, forum pvp is not. /closed
