Help With Building a Hybrid ENG + TAC cruiser.

Well I need help on building a Hybrid ENG+TAC cruiser..Any suggestion will be most welcomed!! Thanks in advance..

Running Aux2Bat type build..I am Having issues keeping Aux Power up..

    Yeah, looks kinda rough.
    Ditch the KCB for the quantum phase beam. Not only do you get an energy beam that is compatible with both phaser boosts and boff powers but also get the 3pc bonus (with the torp) which is also boosted by EPG and +phaser damage.

    For the consoles:
    tac: all Vulnerability Locators
    eng: conductive rcs accelerator [ResAll], Reinforced Armaments, Quantum Phase converter, D.O.M.I.N.O., Plasmonic Leech
    sci: anything beneficial, zero point, nukara console, maybe the lukari console for an emergency heal or any fancy lobi/lockbox/rep/etc. you've got lying around

    Rest of the gear, kinda mixed bag. The romulan bonus doesn't do jack. You've got neither plasma torps nor do you have any ability that deals exotic damge. :|
    Personally I would go for the nukara 2pc (shields+defelctor) and maybe change the core for the terran one. Or maybe just straight up iconian 4pc. Depends on preferences, there's lots of options there.

    As for boffs, without considering any traits, doffs or something I'd go with:
    cmdr eng: ET1, RSP1, EptW3, Aux2Sif3
    lt. engi: EptW1, DEM1 <-- maybe EptS1 if you've got the Shield Overload trait
    lt cmdr tac: TT1, APB2, BFAW3
    ensign tac: TS1
    lt. cmdr sci/intel: HE1, ST2, OSS3 <-- some basic heals/clears that keep you alive and functioning

    noted..Will experiment with it..And yeah I was looking at the Terran equipment..And Got half way through getting the Ico set..

    From What I can see..
    -Ico set for survivability which in turn can free my universal slot for a tac or eng Boff..
    -Terran to get a tactical boost..

    I have the quantum set in a two piece config curently..But for the beam got from the 3 pcs set I need to keep aux high which I am having trouble with..
    But yeah coming to think of it the Romulan shield are pretty crappy..The engine gove a +30 for tactical..

    Will run a few configs and see what works..

    Can't say i have ever bothered with TSS2 or any of the target subsystem powers. In PVE the NPC usually have stellar subsystem repair and in PVP people tend to have immunity to subsystem disable.

    Then again millage may vary and perhaps others have good results with it. What is everyone else his/her experience with them?
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    One more thing, are you aiming to be an offensive build ("mere" DPS) or a tank (Drawing Aggro through build and DPS to cover others within the team).
    If it is the latter, perhaps you should give some thought to using bio molecular or phased bio matter weapons. Both sacrifice a mod for a DOT effect. This DOT effect is incredibly useful in keeping aggro.

    The reason I was planning a set up like that was because in the fore and aft arcs I would have had 5 beams going of at once..5 fore, 5 aft, 7 broadside (considering the 250 arc of the arrays) coupled with BFAW3..If I put the omnis all aft it will be 6 Fore, 7 Broadside and 4 aft, which would required extra guard at the aft quater..As I said I will swap around the beams and see what deals a punch..

    A hybrid like I said..Eng + Tact with a slight edge on DPS..Will look at the Bio sets..Thanks..

    Also curious about the modifiers I have on..Are they ok for the beams? or should I re-engineer for a balanced CrtD/DMG?

    Another thing I noticed is that the omnis as far As I remember were significantly lower in DMG/DPS Vs arrays..But when I look at my omnis there is only a 15 DPS diffrential outside ESD..Am I missing something here??

    -Also last night I got the terran rep photon torpedo to swap with the quantum..What do you guys think of that? Good/Bad..
    -Nakura set am having a look at but will be a while till I get the deflector and shields as suggested by seriousdave..
    -Terran has the core nearly complete..
    -Iconian set has the shield and engines remaining..
    -Gonna ditch the romulan shields and possibily the engines (Iffy on the engines)..

    I have concerns over the Quantum phase 3 pcs bonus ability..The Phas beam needs EPG to hold and I have none in that quater because heavily invested into Engineering and tac with basically the shield and long range targeting abilities in the sci tree..So the phase beam wouldnt be an good to me..Am I seeing this correct? Also I am running AUX2BAT with 3 Technicians in the DoFF Spcae active..

    The built in version on sci ships is pretty good on drain builds, outside of that I wouldn't waste a tac slot for it.

    There really isn't much of a reason to care for your aft. The new enemies from the new episode are pretty much the first and only ones to actually go for a specific side and everything else can be outmaneuvered by even the slowest whales. Focus on your front and sides to max your DPS.

    Any mix of those mods is fine unless you wan to fully min/max. Your mods are already way above avarage so no worries there.

    Never touched the terran torp, looks good but depends on how often you actually get to fire it. Escorts & stuff would get better results with it but since the sovy isn't that bad to fly it might be worth a shot. Though if you're just about firing a torp once in a while for bursts you might wanna look at the Neutronic torp from the delta rep for it's raw damage.

    As for the rom engines, that +Starship Weapon Amplification is a very useful bonus to have. Better be 100% sure about it's replacement because otherwise it's just wasted ressources and potential.

    Now the QDB, if you've got zero EPG and your aux hits rock bottom constantly then it might just not be for you. I usually fly rather mixed types and it works just fine but I doubt that +phaser alone can support it properly.
    If you are going for another torp I'd say to only keep the quantum phase console and go for a regular phaser beam with good mods too. It's a superb freebie but without the set and zero drain support it's just not as good as a normal phaser with CrtD & DMG mods.

    The 200% max damage of the terran torp is what got my attention also I will give the Neutronic Torp another shot..I have the torp and the bio nureal circut..Also I am gonna ditch the Rom shields and keep engines for that +30 weapon amplification..I have about 30 EPG from consoles and thats about it and Aux hit rock bottom cosistently so its a no go with the QDB..But I did notice the quantum phase torp Procing quite regularly at high yield in ISA..

    Interesting..Views on the terran torp..Seeing the quantum phase torp proc like hell in HY mode..So maybe its a runner up to go aalong with the neutronic to be upgraded to EPIC..And ditch photons completely along with plasma..

    Was looking at the siphon ability of the Bajoran 4 piece set and the boost to the beams and was wondering what if I ditched the Plasmonic Leech conolse? also I am trying out the Xenotech console from K-13 where you have ResALL and Pen..

    Opinions please..Also note am running A2B with 3 techs and a warp core engineer ..

    don't disregard the biomolecular torpedo and the console from that set. it's 5% to phasers

    At current power levels without any buffs and set to attack on the tray these are my stats.

    125 = Weapons
    57 = Shields
    49 = Engines
    74 = Aux
    Power Transfer = 276.67%

    Activating EPS transfer 3 (2min CD) 30sec active/Red matter Capacitor (3min CD) 30sec active..

    150 = Weapons (Same with red matter capacitor, 3min CD)
    83 = Shields / = 110 (With red matter capacitor, 3min CD)
    74 = Engines / = 99 (With red matter capacitor, 3min CD)
    99 = AUX / = 124 (With red matter capacitor, 3min CD)
    Power transfer rate / = 526.67%

    Activating OSS 2 (2min CD)

    161 = Weapons
    91 = Shields
    85 = Engines
    106 = Aux

    For weapons with weapon system efficency and nanodian Inversion 3 (3min CD, active for 30sec) active,
    weapon power consumption = 3.4

    So...about the bajorian set...it looks good on paper. Here is the thing however...you will need to keep targets within 5 km. Because the buffs lasts for only 3 seconds, the moment you are out of 5k of all enemies...you get zip. Also with the 4 piece, you get that damn boosted mobility...which randomly makes you ship act all funny off and on as you move between less than 5km and more than. I found that attempts to keep thinks within range was an issue. If your piloting skill is better than mine...it's worth a shot. But I swapped out of them. Too much of a hassle to use. Brain processing better used for other things.

    Also if you are using a2b for power management and cooldown management, you really should run 2 of them to global everything. You may also want to work in some sci with energy siphon if you want to try and keep your aux high during those A2B usages. So if you used that intel uni for sci boff, you can do OSS1, OSS2 and ES2 (or OSS1, ES 1, OSS3 if you want more bursty power goodness) Between those, EPtX and A2B, you should be swimming in power levels. As for why dual OSS when you have A2B? Because OSS has a wierd cooldown mechanic. If you have just one, you activate it. It stays powered up for 20 seconds. Than it will go into it's 1 min cooldown, global of 45 seconds. So if you have just one active, you stay powered up for 20 seconds and need 45 second of global before you can use it again. If you have two however, the second one tiggers the global and counts down as the first one powers up for 20 seconds. That means you can hit the second one 25 seconds after the first one wears out instead of the full 45 seconds. So with two copies, that means near 50% uptime of having more than max powers to EVERYTHING...which is a lot of fun.

    In short ditched some rep gear for fleet gear..Weapons have been swapped..Traits have been changed around for Cat 2 bonuses..

    If you DO like a speed boost on your cruiser, the Competitive rep impulse engines give you a speed and turn boost of 350% for 5 secs when you use a tac or a healing or a control ability; depending on what version you get. I use the healing one on my fat whale cruisers. I can pop an Aux2structure and get my fore arc on stuff easy. And since you control when it procs, no more random speed bursts.

    Just an update after a while I got the two pcs UNDINE (Console from rep and console from Surface Tension) so a 13.1% increase in phaser damage from the Surface tension console plus the 2 set bonus of an additional 7.5% phaser damage giving a total of 20.6% phaser damage..CONSOLES NOT UPGRADED TO MKIV yet..

    Also got the Xenotech drift module for 28.3% turn rate and 31.9 armor pen..And the Xenotech Resilience module for the 14.8 resist and 31.9 armor pen..

    At stationary,
    Inertia = 40
    Speed = 44.3
    Turn rate = 5.9 deg/sec

    Armor Pen = 164

    DBB's MK IV UR= 1089.7DPS
    Array's MKIV UR= 838.2 DPS

    Anything worth wild for shield Pen?!
