    I agree that the Dewan ships resemble green pine cones and are about the ugliest things I've ever seen. The Lethean ships are 'meh' and the the Andorian ones are the best looking of the bunch. I find myself wanting the one with the GW enhancer since I like to run sci a lot. Other than that? Not that interested. Escorts and me, we don't get along.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    Update game to delete multiple stacks of boxes at once. I have tons of stacks and no patience to delete each stack.

    Don't feel bad; quite aside from whether or not you get along with them, there are engagements which are bad matches for them (the final battle of 'Scylla & Charybdis' comes to mind). This said, consider the typical gun run (Tac Team/Cannon Rapid Fire/Attack Pattern Omega); now cherry that with Scattering Field and Sensor Scan. Tachyon Beam is theoretically useful to help with this, but with APO you move so fast that I'm not sure it gets enough time on target; Energy Siphon seems a good substitute.

    On a lighter note, proper tuneage certainly helps with getting in the right frame of mind - the olvek'taar, or 'killing trance'. House of the Dying Sun (from which that term originates) has a very good soundtrack which can be legitimately downloaded for free, and as I've noted elsewhere, you can't go too wrong with the music from the Ace Combat series, or most Macross incarnations...

    You aren't. They expect someone will buy them, and know people have diverse tastes. And sometimes people want ugly, too.

    It is a nice idea, but the Dewan ships don't really strike me as interesting, lore-wise. Wouldn't it have been better to just invent a new Romulan client species, one subjugated by the Romulan Star Empire long ago and now a free member of the Republic? That would have been a nice way to show how the Republic is consolidating. As a bonus, one could have made that species available to play if you purchase all three ships or something like that. Maybe next time?

    Ooh, ooh.. the Mazarites! I've always thought that the Mazarite story in Enterprise (Fallen Hero) makes a ton of sense if there were a Romulan influence behind the scenes. They had a ship, too. I would also suggest that the Tandarans are a good candidate for Romulan client state.

    The T6 Wing Cannon module... can it be used on the T5/u Andorian Escorts?

    Or is the T5 Kumari stuck with it's antiquated Wing Cannnon?

    I;m inclined to agree with those, that the Lethean ships have more of an EVE jive going for them... Particularly with the Minmater faction...

    are pilot maneuvers any good in pve? do you loose all aggro/auto lock dmg when you jump in a direction? like if someone let loose a torp spread and it is traveling towards ya... jump in a direction. Do the torp spread suddenly all miss like if you did a barrel-roll?

    They are very good assuming they aren't nerfed or reworked, a ton of fun to use, and highly effective because of the brief immunity and mobility bonus on low cool-down which has so many uses such as getting DHC on target faster, escaping stuff, and reaching mission objectives quicker. The jump is faster than it shows in the animation, unless they've reworked it (I hope not!), and yes have all dmg immunity for that brief period which is obviously super powerful with the low cool-down.

    The only downside to pilot maneuvers is the interface with the arrows is partly bugged, meaning I have to keep checking the 'disable double-tap to roll' button as it unchecks itself randomly and at the start of every new map, and you start doing unexpected thrusts by double-tapping a direction accidentally which happens all the time.

    I'm sure that the Andorian ships will be able to use the T5 Andorian Skins as the ships unlock the same Phasers as the T5s.

    Again, another way to mitigate the changes they made with the Space Rebalancing update re Gravity Wells. Nerf then sell new partial mitigations to said nerf.

    I'd like to know for sure if we gain access to all the T5 skins if owning these T6s, since on reddit some claim this isn't always true (see link). I can't find lootcritter's confirmation that you can from a dev.

    Nerf what was free and sell it back later, or just leave it nerfed to oblivion because it's science and players can't learn to counter science even if nobody plays PVP anyways (see feedback pulse and the new but worthless FBP enhancing trait, RIP) - it makes for some suckers for a few rounds that help us keep the game afloat, but sooner or later people catch on to this and learn space barbie is the only real end-game.

    I'm thinking a mass drug test in the art department is in order. O.o

    Or rather stop re-creating little children's quick sketches then throw them in the C-Store for $30-60+ USD as if they're works of art that also fit the IP and specific gameplay. I still hate the textures of my pilot warbirds, and their shapes to some extent, and it's painfully obvious where developers have put in serious work and creative thought and where they've cut corners.

    Meh...even though I just made a new Leathean character.... these look too pointy to me. Not appealing at all.

    Besides, I already have Pilot Raptor bundle (which looks awesome, BTW). I got myself last year for my B-day....soooo, I am not about to dry dock those, yet. :smile:

    The lethean looks like the lovechild of a b wing and a B5 starfury with just a hint of homeworld.

    Is the back end of the dewan meant to look like a hairbrush?

    Grav well trait seems nice but why on an escort and not a sci ship?

    The Dewans are allies to the Romulan Republic? If I recall correctly the Dewans were extinct when they tried to activate the Iconian gateway on their planet, and failed. Or do they come back from the past during the Temporal Cold War (haven't played all episodes of that arc yet)?

    Yeah, the dewans were the residents of new romulus (aka tau dewa 3) who died out centuries ago and never actually had a manned space program.

    The cryptic lore person has probably already been told to rewrite history to make them a species not only capable of space flight but warp travel as well.

    You aren't. They expect someone will buy them, and know people have diverse tastes. And sometimes people want ugly, too.
    Consider the A-10 Thunderbolt II (more widely, and affectionately, dubbed 'Warthog'): it's certainly homely compared to, say, an F-22 or F-35... but when you need CAS right now, there is no more beautiful sight than one of these smoking in low, cannon blazing. Since folks brought up SW, the B-wing is supposed to be the Alliance counterpart... but fails the rough-field tolerance test: that fighter is explicitly noted as being very maintenance-intensive compared to the Y-wing.
    Grav well trait seems nice but why on an escort and not a sci ship?
    That's a good question: hopefully the escorts in question can actually run grav well (the Khyzon, which is the sci-flavored member of the T5 Andorian escort trio, does not).

    Aside from FAW on a beamscort (which would require arrays instead of DBBs for full effect), you can invoke Itano Circus by using Torpedo Spread with either of the missile launchers (Kentari or Ferengi). Note: this is not to be confused with Roboteching.

    If I recall correctly, beam arrays and omnidirectionals don't have much of an elevation/depression limit (contrast with cannons and dual-beam banks). Quite aside from this, I'm not sure which keyboard/controller assignments would work for this... and, as noted, there is a limit to how quickly the maneuver can be used in succession. Not that STO space combat taking cues from the likes of Descent and House of the Dying Sun (or Homeworld) would be a bad thing...

    I don't mind the design of Dewan ships either.
    Yes pilot lok wise i might have prefferd Reman looks, but this bundle motivates again to wait for next ship special.

    The Dewan ships remind me of the Baltim raiders
    And when i saw the news, it was woohoo pilot ships! <3

    I never said I don't like them. In my humble opinion it's just odd that a species extinct over 100,000 years ago could be an ally to the Romulan Republic. But maybe I'm a candidate for Q to ask: "Why do you always have to be so linear?"

    For the looks of the ships: I hated the Nebula when I first laid eyes on her, but after some time I fell in love. That experience taught me to never judge a design at first sight.

    Maybe some of them did survive...or maybe at least the technology. In the PC game, Starfleet Academy, the vessels the Venturi used were very, very old. Maybe this is what's going on, yo. :)

    For those interested, the statistics. From that, I note the following...

    • the science variants can, in fact, run gravity wells (rank 1);
    • the gateways from the trap console do not appear to be destructible (unlike actual Iconian gateways);
    • there is a set bonus. I suspect the mention of needing four consoles is yet another example of someone not doing proper proofreading

    With that, a pair of suggestions come to mind:

    • an argument could be made that the gateway console might work better in 'reverse' - for example, using it at the end of a gun run to move the bogies away from you;
    • perhaps the torpedo platforms could be modified to use the same base type as whichever torpedo is in your #3 (from left to right) forward slot. Example: if the Omega launcher is equipped, the platforms fire plasma torpedoes; photons for gravimetric torps; et cetera. Note that the energy torpedoes and missile launchers are also counted as base types.

    Each set of ships shares Universal Consoles and Starship Traits with similar variants from the other factions, for a total of three separate versions of each being included. All nine of these vessels use standard Warp Cores (not Singularity Cores) and share stats and abilities with their counterparts in the other two factions. They will be available in the C-Store and can be purchased by level 50 players (Vice Admiral and Lieutenant General ranks).

    These vessels will all be outfitted with a Commander-rank Tactical/Pilot Specialist Bridge Officer seat.

    1 spezialised seat? And the romulans downgraded a ship to fed quality, forgoing all romulan tech. They really took the non spacefaring tech, instead of iconian aid...

    The core thing is a pet peeve of mine as for rep gear rommies need to buy both at full price if they want to make use of a set on both romulan vessels and the warp cored ones from events.

    Exactly. Set juggling is already a puzzle of its own before you add the duplicate core issue. What we need are some singularity event ships to balance things out.

    Grav Well trait worth being seen in one of these ships... They are ugly though...and they should come with free dry dock slots..
