Season Update = Foundry down hiatus

Not intended to do any argument over this, only to know if anyone (including any DEV passing by...) has any idea how long it will be down. Short ? Long ? A week or two ? A month... more?

A typical downtime lasts 1 to 2 weeks. Unless and issue arises in which case the downtime can stretch longer. Seasonal downtime is a normal procedure and exists to prevent potential complications.

Also, when the Foundry starts coming back online, there is usually a couple of weeks where the option to leave reviews is turned off so we can go in and play our missions to see if any bugs crop up as a result of the season patch.

True, but the embarrassing aspect of it is that certain effects cannot be visualized during testing... i'm particularly thinking about some of the trigger activation options (Objective in Progress/Objective Complete) that work only once the mission is published.

They can be tested in preview. After the Foundry came back from the Artifacts downtime we started seeing an error pop up with objective progression. Sometimes objective triggers don't work. There is a work around (besides loading up the editor again, though this doesn't guarantee another issue might pop up): place a dialog pop-up right before the bugged objective in the story tab. Adding something to the progression seems to fix the preview problem. You can then take that pop-up out as you move on in testing/publishing.

There are two types of dialog, the story related and the other one which it's not exactly the same and wouldn't work the same way. Which you refer to?

Story related, hence reference to the story tab. :)

Hopefully they'll take the opportunity to fix a few of the lingering bugs that have haunted the Foundry since the lighting update.

    Unlikely, but still...

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."
