ok the whole temporal rep and gear mk xiii thing...

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
you get your avatar to tier 5 all reps and go talk to carey (fed) he's suppose to give you something? there is no interaction, and the tab for temporal is empty.
I thought maybe i had to go to DS9 to watch the recording, but that did not work. signed off then back in still nada.
what am I missing?

    Who's supposed to give you something?

    If you're referring to the Temporal Agent characters reaching T5 on all reps, you open the Temporal device in your inventory and claim the reward.
    Its the rest of the characters on your account that have to go talk to their respective Temporal Investigator NPC.

    No.

    Your Temporal Recruit uses his Temporal Thingamajig to claim it like every other claimed unlock and reward.

    Then your OTHER characters go talk to Phillip "Earl" Crey to unlock it for themselves.

    AHHHH thanks for the clarification.. and the other toons do not need to be tier 5, correct?

    You have to create a TOS Starfleet character during the Special Agent Recruitment event during July and August. Then you have to get a Temporal Transponder once you reached the 25th Century. After you get all Reputations to Tier 5 on your TOS Starfleet character, then you activate the Temporal Transponder and claim the 9 reputations to Tier 5 reward and move to another map. After you have moved to another map, then all Reputation Equipment projects except for Kit Modules and other miscellaneous items will be Ultra Rare Mk XIII.

    You go to the temporal contact to claim the rewards for non-TOS Starfleet characters not for TOS Starfleet characters.

    Only the Temporal Agent needs to be at Tier 5 to claim the reward.

    so just to clarify, if i missed out on creating a TOS character during that time, there is NO WAY i can claim this reward?

    the only way to get the temporal rewards is the temporal thing so. sorry but you can't in less you have the thing.

    That is correct, if you did not make your alt during the events run, you would not be able to claim the transponder once reaching earth space dock in the 25th century, meaning you miss out on all the rewards associated with being a temporal agent and benifitting your whole account..

    All events are like that now. If you see an event reward you might want, DO NOT say to yourself "meh, I'll do it next time."

    Non-repeating events like this are just as bad as non-repeating specialty missions in the Fleet Starbase.

    At least the Starbase specialty missions come back around, until January 18th for all of them now. Guess their metrics worked for those. Let's hope we can get Delta and Temporal Recruit repeats soon.

    I'm not holding my breath though.

    Yeah, I was away from the game during the Delta Recruit opportunity and occasionally groan. I'd make a new captain and run all the old content again for the rewards cheerfully enough. But the Temporal Recruit account-wide bonuses are simply incredible. I really hope they come around again for others. The [very rare XIII] reputation gear bonus is something you can work around/live without, but damn does it save you a TON of effort. Ditto the space trait - its doesn't make your captain better, but the raw overwhelming convenience has earned it a spot on nearly every one of my captains.

    But that starship trait? Great googlely mooglely. Its like Emergency Weapon Cycles rambunctious little brother. Slotting the two of them together is build-defining.

    The "superior" specialist ship traits also look amazing (haven't unlocked them yet, but getting close).

    Well damn, I was told all I had to do was max out my reps on my TOS character and I'd get the gear benefits. I wasn't playing during the event (I come back to the game once a year or so because let's face it, there simply isn't enough content to make this a long term game). So it looks like all the time I've spent grinding on that specific character has been wasted.

    When was the AoY character created? You might go check in with the temporal ops guy just on general principle to see if he gives you the "hey, I lost my temporal communicator-thingie" dialogue option. If he does, you're golden.

    I'll check that. I only came back to the game maybe 3 weeks ago and made my new character then.
