Which new fleet holding would be interesting to see?

As for now we got almost with every expansion some new fleet holding, with Legacy of Romulus a Embassy and with Delta rising a Krenim Temporal Research Lab, which one would fit for TOS era best but be functional for 25th century, as we have Chekov as temporal agent, so AoY seems important to get its fleet holding, or no?

Fleet holdings were implemented shortly before I started playing, but each holding released since has been related to the then-current plot of the main story. If we got a new holding right now, it'd probably be related to the Temporal Cold War, and thematically really step on the toes of the (very Krenim) Research Lab.

I would vote for a shipyard, if only we could build fleet-designed ships; otherwise, the colony could have some interesting and useful capabilities and resources.

Savik - Vulcan Fed Temporal Sci

A colony. It'd tie into the 'early Federation' theme well, and would also tie into the wider Star Trek themes of exploration and discovery.

The only original idea here would be the Colony. What would the Asteroid Shipyard or Temporal Shipyard provide over what the Shipyard or Research Lab could provide? Considering that the Annorax was developed at the Research Lab, then it is already designed for holding and studying temporal ships.

A Trading Station, Listening Post, or an Exploration Base are all possibilities that haven't been used yet. Although, I would still recommend the Colony since it seems like the more interesting option.

I'd say the colony idea, just not TOS-like, not on the interior anyway. Maybe a Memory Delta holding instead for studying technology, history, and wildlife from Delta Quadrant planets.

I'd rather save colonies for non TOS as well.

But for an AOY how about a Fleet Captain's Table? A temporal observatory/outpost that you can summon a portal for anywhere in space.

None of the above. I would like a fleet exploration cluster as a holding, with fleet projects to unlock new locations with daily missions. Its past time we took fleets somewhere new. So far apart from the dill mine all we have are shops. Which is all I can see a colony being.

I don’t want a new fleet holding at all. They are time-gated resource sinks, ad immensely to power creep and help hypocrites that cry for Dil sinks under the full knowledge that they won’t be the ones going for them.

I like your idea and the given options very much OP, just not as fleet holding. I think the game is ready for an account wide player’s “housing” where such stuff could be implemented and played/payed for.

That way everybody would be treated equally and fairly while under the current system a minority covers the back of countless freeloaders.

Well they're all nice ideas but we already have asteroid base and shipyard and temporal stuff so the colony is the most unique.

could you give more detail on what you would expect each of these holding would give you. like the main base is what you build of. then the dilithium mine gives dilithium and so on. what would each holding contribute
I cant brain I have the dumb

Kelvin Yorktown starbase. It'd be huge and complicated, but awesome.

None of the above sound that interesting, but I usually only visit fleet holdings for the marks projects and to buy fleet gear.

Too few options in that poll.

A ship yard could be nice, and it would help in making the storyline with all the conflicts and losses a bit more believable.

A colony is also a good idea, but I imagine that it would have to be huge for a fleet holding and we should probably wait for this until we have some sort of exploration system, which would make a great combination. No more TOS stuff please though.

Whatever this holding would be, it would be nice if there was a reason to keep visiting it, and not just to buy gear but also for daily exploration missions for example or because we could actually help building the holding and see the changes over time. It would have to be something long-term, not just something you work on for a season.

^ SimColony could be fun, but Cryptic would never put that much work into a Fleet-only side game.

A TOS holding would be noice but I don't care just give us so more good unique fleet gear and a new dil sink.

No to Yorktown base STO doesnt need a death star sized holding that would be way bigger than our actual fleet base plus it would make no sense.

I would like to see the addition of a land-based holding this time. Don't think the TOS era would be what is needed, but a modern-day colony would be nice to have.

Isn't the embassy on New Romulus already a land-based fleet holding? But another land-based facility on a different planet could work nicely.

I'd personally love to see the Kelvin Yorktown starbase added but I doubt it would actually be made as it would probably be way too big and complicated to build in the game.

One of the reasons I rarely visit the Embassy is because all the basic services are spread out over the entire holding. The Spire, for example, is a much better place to visit if you need to do something quickly.

What I would expect from a land-based holding is that it also has an exterior, much more like the staging area of New Romulus or the Reman area. Some rooms in the Embassy are nice, but I'd like to see a bit more if they ever release a colony holding.

I would personally vote for a Trading Post that features all special Doffing missions, including those normally only gained from Suliban or Ferengi Doff NPCs, as well as an all-in-one-stop-shop for various economic goods at a low price and a list of places where they can be traded at (or Doffed at) to make some profit back.

As well, Trading posts would grant a fixed discount to Exchange purchase costs that only affects the player buying. The players selling still get back the full cost of what they put the item up for. T1 would grant a 10% Discount. T2 a 20% Discount. T3 a 30% discount. Or if Cryptic feels that's too steep, T1 grants a 5% Discount, T2 a 10% Discount, and T3 a 25% Discount. The Discounts DO NOT STACK, so the most you'd get discounted are either 30% or 25%.

The other Tier line discounts Dilithium costs of Dilithium store items by a similar amount, and DO NOT STACK. So T1 @ 5%, T2 @ 10%, T3 @ 25%, or if that could unbalance the Dilithium market some, T1 @ 5%, T2 @ 10%, and T3 @ 15%. It does not have an affect on the Dilithium Exchange, as that is directly tied to Zen.

Good point about the spire; it really is easier to get to everything in there as everything's not so spread out.

The colony holding is a great idea, but I'm wondering what kinds of services it would uniquely have that the other fleet holdings wouldn't have. Maybe a more independent trader/civilian-oriented marketplace?
