most people want daily refining cap raised because they already have more dilithium than they can refine in this lifetime. I don't see how hoarding MORE unrefined dilithium is in any way a good thing, practically or psychologically

Psychologically is watching my over cap Dil ore go into a bit bucket never to be seen again God for bid doing Klingon tour and losing 30k dill ore in a sec (: Nothing to show for it

Yes, simply don't do the admirailty than, simple no!

Well, then, STOP DOING THAT. Why do you keep doing things to grind dilithium if you don't need any? Stop hitting yourself, dude.

Can't help it now just doffing and admiralty plus any new events/episodes does the dil trick

Well, suppose the cap was raised to infinity. Considering that you already make more unrefined dil that you can refine, your unrefined dilithium reserves would steadily increase, when you reach 30 million, it would take you 10 years to refine it all. Fast forward five years into the future - the technology supporting STO becomes obsolete, Cryptic pulls the plug, and 15 million (+ whatever you farmed during those five years) of your hard-earned dilithiums go to silicon heaven. But at least you didn't see them disappearing little by little.

...don't you think that maybe... just MAYBE it might be more sensible to try and find a different reason to play the game? Like good old fashioned fun, for example?

I play for fun But don't you think it would be more fun if I knew I was getting more UN-refined DIL like your are. heck with the dil event I am Over Cap in 5 secs after turning in doff missions. It would be nice to see that I accomplished something is this not why we play games.

Man is this thread still going on?!?

Look we know you maxed your dilithium, you poor, poor guy, having so much of the stuff you litteraly never have to grind/work again.
But why not just play the game for fun only, pick the missions you enjoy for their content not just their payout.
A lot of people wish they had as much of the stuff as you do as they could avoid the grind entirely.
You're in a lucky position so try to enjoy it instead of expecting the game to be changed to suit you.

Hell if you've got so much of the damned stuff you could probably run your own fleet single handed or start making charity donations of the stuff to other fleets or players why are struggling. Literally nothing is out of your reach as you no longer need to be a slave to the dilithium grind.

LOL I do have my own Fleet and yes I give a lot of stuff out and I put items on exchange at real low prices understand I have playing since BETA of this game like some others like me it is Sad to see the over amount 10 mil dil cap just disappear and not get anything for the effort. If you were at this point of the game you probably be asking for the same thing.

Conceivably, there could be something similar to getting spec points by accumulating skill points once you max out your level. This could also work for refined dil, EC and latinum. Basically everything over-the-cap that you earn could count towards some special reward - doffs, equipment/r&d boxes, or whatever...

Wish I had as much dilithium as you, Mr. OP. Hope you get your cap increase.

Funny thing about Spec point when your Maxed out on those you get a additional 2.5k in un-refined Dill every time you lvl up

Hm OP I’m slowly beginning to share your concern. But only slowly as my lead space tac toon just surpassed the 2M unrefined Dil mark yesterday. On my other eight chars it begins to look similar with the poorest just above 1,5M unrefined Dil.

With doffing and being good at pve there was always a sound balance between my average gaming time of three hours and the Dil income/refinement with a deck of nine toons but Admiralty last year clearly crashed that totally. I begin to drown in unrefined Dil and nobody can hear my screams in ISA when beeing isolated in all epic builds doing 100k DPS.

Usually I’d say 4 more toons are in order to compensate however if they start to doff and pull Admiralty too it won’t do any good in the long run. A game where you can’t do a single move without stumbling over yet more Dil does not help out either.

LOL, and there we were 1,5 years ago crying over nerfed PvE Dil rewards.

Gaming life is so unfair. :'(

    Dear OP:

I would like to take a minute to ask you if you're "doing something wrong". To wit:

Most "high end" dil payouts on Doffing missions is about 125-200. At 20 slots, this is maybe 4k a day...
Admiralty is littered with non-dil paying stuffs, grabbing what comes my way, once a day, nets me on average 1.5k / day.

So, right there, I'm seeing 2-5k from a simple login and DOff/Admiralty collection. That leaves you a 3k "deficit" that can start to pull you from cap... Or at least let you run a couple of elites before you re-cap - which is obviously more than a 5 minute task...

Now, I know I speak heresay when I say perhaps you shouldn't be worried about feeding contraband kitty anymore. Sell those contrabands on the exchange. Don't pull from the top-end missions anymore, send them scrubs on "other tasks" like skillpoint collecting (nothing like zero-houring the new Specialist spec, right?) - both Doffing and Admiralty (Yes, there is a Federation chain that doesn't drop 30k dil every couple of weeks, why not explore that). If watching a counter climb is that important to you, turn some of them refined dils into more characters, clone your main, and build them up...

If you have capped every character on a maxxed-character account, would it really hurt to nuke one and repeat?
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...
