Eh to me cloaks both kinds being availible to the fed is not that bad at all, as cloaks just don't scream faction specific element, though as has been said both the KDF an Romulans have far more cloak-able ships than the fed by a large degree. The ship design an looks speak more to the faction for me than the functions like cloaks, while it is nice that the Romulan have one really specific thing to them that is the singularity core (wish this had more to it, and more interesting, still good.). Yet also said the non-federation factions are by far the least played an populated side, which makes sense to put more effort into in a f2p game.

Umm...the kor has EBC...not just a BC. It has 2 universal LTC slots. It has raider flanking. If you can't make use of those things to make the kor perform over the valiant's slightly better stats...you don't deserve to fly in a BoP. And if you are a fed player who can't see beyond just the stats...well...you will never know the joys of flying a BoP anyways...so enjoy your better stats with your smug fed smile.... We all know who has the real power (the romulans).
I fly the kor regularly, and never paid for a fed ship period. so sorry for you but I'm a smug kdf player not fed. and that the point, can be made to, the valiant doesn't need anything do the job. hell raider flanking was add because cloak is balances it self with the no shields thing and like everything added to every ship except escorts is needed cause escorts have no real weaknesses. the fact this game has the sorriest brunch players I have ever seen really doesn't change anything.

Precisely, the new Defiant battlecloak comes with so many strings attached that it feels like playing Klingon in meta that clearly favours Roms in damage department and Fed in everything else. Nicely put, beamed.
I am not overly fond of having everything unique to the KDF/Rom ships being shipped over to the Feds without it happenning the other way. I am tired of the other two getting the short end of the stick again, and again, and again.
That being said, one ship with battlecloak is not the worst thing in the world. I don't pretend to speak for all whose main is KDF, but I don't mind this one ship getting it. I am looking forward to picking up the attack ship pack.
Now about those Klingon/Romulan science ships...

the only battle cruiser with battle cloak is the qin with crusier weapon layout.
the mat'ha has 5 fore and 5 tact but only regular cloak.
no kdf ship has battle cloak and 5 fore.

yah, as said, not a cannon fan, and if i were there are better cannons than the quad. second, the cloak is a console, and there are far far better uses for that slot. not sure I would even consider it unless I were making a quantum bomber, using the quads and CRF to take shields down
