Platinum Lifetime Subscription

I am a current LTS and just purchased the T6 dreadnought bundle. It's going to be while until I can buy another. I with they would offer an upgraded LTS. I want 1,000 zen per month, not 500. If the LTS costs $200, why not offer a premium that gives you some extra rewards and more monthly zen? Perhaps $100 for the upgrade, more zen and a few T6 ships.

What do you think?

Nope, I just budget for ships using real-world money if the 500/month isn't enough.

LTS' are already a loss if the player is around for a certain period of time...I doubt they would make it a bigger loss...plus more T6 ships...I assume you mean like a Cruiser and or Science based Vet ship?

You add one that is 30 dollars...you add two and that is 60...throw in the zen...it's half a year then it's a loss for them...yeah I don't see something like that happening without it costing around the amount of a LTS...much less happening at all.

why not take that $100 and just buy 10600 zen with it, you will get even more at the moment as there is 15% bonus on all purchases so you will get 12100 zen in total, that's two years worth of your extra 500 zen a month right there.

welcome to the PLTS club, theres a $100 two yearly fee for joining.

sorry guys I could not help myself.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Ignoring all the hoped for non-Zen 'extras' (that probably wouldn't happen anyway, or be of such minor value to even bother counting...)

    As others have said...
You want to give them an extra $100 for an extra 500 Zen a month.
If you buy Zen at sale time you can get 12100 Zen for that $100.
12100 Zen / 500 extra Zen per month = 24.2 months to break even.

This 'platinum' LTS is a bad idea. Unless you are 100% certain that you'll never ever buy Zen (& STO keeps going for 2+ more years and/or you don't grow tired of it) you're probably better off just buying Zen when a sale rolls around and keep your Zen wallet filled.

As a lifer I feel the 500 zen is good, I just want the Captains Table to be something more then wasted space. Now 15% off everyday would make up for it, even removing the dil cap would be great. Grind baby grind :-)

Pssh, the Latinum LTS is where it's at. I enjoy my weekly lunch with the Ferengi cast of DS9 :sunglasses:

In all seriousness though... the friendly banter that's going on here would turn horrid if there's tiered LTS. A lot of players already complain about things being locked behind the LTS wall, or LTS players getting perks that others don't (Talaxians added as a playable race only at that level, the free T6 Vet Destroyers to new and old LTS alike, the Vet-only Oddy uniform variants, etc.). Every month or so, there's another forum thread where players rage against LTS/Gold for having things that other players don't.

Could you imagine the forum fires that'd happen if there was any level of LTS+?

But they keep adding things to the list of Vet perks every so often, which is awesome. But tiered LTS? You can guarantee that any new Vet options would be at that next level up only.

    Overall, not a good idea.

what you say is true, of course it should not be this way.
players who have spent $100s in the c-store on ships, lockbox keys and other such items have had enough opportunity to spend that money on a LTS but they chose to spend it elsewhere instead, that's their choice so they cant complain.
players who have spent very little in game or nothing at all for that matter have no right to complain because they would not have a game to play if it wasn't for us lifers and monthly subbers as well as the guys from the first group who have spent lots of money in the c-store.

sure its nice when cryptic expand the vet rewards but I expect nothing and I was happy with the stuff I got when I bought my LTS, if they choose to add to the package that is up to them.
having said that I don't see anyone complaining when they do a c-store giveaway and there really is no difference at all, everything in the game belongs to cryptic and if they give the use of certain stuff to some or all is entirely up to their discretion, just like the recent lapsed player giveaways they have done recently.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

Exactly! If Cryptic have a giveaway for something I've bought previously (and they have) I just say 'damn!' and get on with things. never see those complaints, too busy playing with all my free stuff. :)
though I must admit I did mention during the last giveaway that the early items were a bit lame compared to previous giveaways but it wasn't really complaining just an observation.

still I stand by the rest of my comment.

The only consolation that I have to offer you and myself is that these cases are probably vastly overrepresented on the forums. Someone that doesn'T have a problem from a promo and hasn't anything to gain from it would typically not even bother to post about it. It probably requires not even a dozens of individuals to generate the initial thread activity on this kind of topics. Maybe it would really be best to just ignore such threads, not even bother to argue against them.

True enough, eh? I usually try to pop in with a "thanks" as early as I can, if there's been a great mission, something new being announced, and so on. But as a general rule of customer service, more often than not you're only hearing feedback from the people who are voicing a complaint. So if say... you hear from 10% of your customer base, maybe 90% of that 10% is negative (some justified, some not so much). But of that mostly unheard from 90%, you can reasonably expect that a majority of them would fall somewhere on the 'satisfied' side of a survey.

Either way, setting up a tiered Gold system that extends the current model (which is Free-to-Player, FtP but with purchases, monthly subs, and LTS) is mostly pointless - the entire breadth of game consumer is currently covered. Adding additional levels of LTS would just make a whole series of problems determining who gets what.

Case in point: "Oh, we have a new free ship! But you have to be an LTS+ with the Triple Gold Star buy-in, but only if you've purchased the New Content Eligable add-on with the Free LTS Perks unlock."

There's an argument to be made for having varying levels of subscribership, or even just purchasing in general. But I think that's already covered well enough in the current model. Both monthly subs and LTS are Gold players, with LTS getting the extra bits. And anyone can purchase additional content at the rate they chose / are able to do so. Any more and it gets too complicated for the company, and too prohibitive for more and more of the playerbase.

    TL;DR version: URMAGERD?!?!?!?!?!

Yeah, that's true enough. Before being LTS and several months after now, I haven't felt that I was missing out before, or am king of the hill now. Just nice perks for some extra flavour to the game.
