I think Defiant & Co. will come out first. Featured episode anyone? They've got Nog coming up, and Defiant/T'varo/B'rel have been out for much longer than Avenger/Mogh.

yeah but the avenger trio was confirmed first and it even got details (looks, starship trait).

RnD and upgrade needs less RNG. Less lottery. Something has to change.

Well after recent "ahem" Intel I can say that the next pack of ships will not be the Defiant, that is if it was correct and not the Tal Shiar up to their old tricks again.

LOL, we can't say it on the boards or ingame. It's not an official news announcement. But the source has always been reliable of new things hitting the game. They never can say when these things hit, but they never have been wrong on finding these new things.

this kinda makes me sad, but hey, at least they're on the way.

Chained with other stuff, the ability to have CSV3 with 100% uptime? Sounds like pure power creep to me.

(Besides, the trait off the JHSS buffs CRF, and CRF is pretty niche these days anyways.)

ive never been a fan of CSV. does it match the single target dmg of CRF?

CSV is a boost of +15/20/25%, whereas CRF is +30/40/50%. So at level 3, CRF hits 20% harder, but CSV is hitting multiple targets for net something-like-double the damage output (once you take everything else into account). Offhand, only time CRF does net more damage is against single big targets like bosses (though CSV also clears spam) and in PVP (where to my knowledge everyone has switched to Surgical Strikes anyways). Generally, unless you have the JHSS trait or you're specifically a single-target build, CSV is the way to go.

i'm also thinking reroute reserves to weapons could work instead of CSV/CRF if the ship indeed will have a pilot slot, although if it wont be the commander, you can't run two copies.

In the end I just bought a pilot ship, and I'm happy with it. T6 Defiant won't be as maneuverable as those, it will have just 4 fore wepons, still lighter in hull than the FT5U, crappy trait.
considering I use, and have, a FT5U Defiant already that does perfectly the vaper... a T6 one doesn't justify a second purchase of the same ship.
I need to get to him. I can't just leave him out there alone. - Sometimes you've got to makes sacrifices, Lara. You can't save everyone. - I know about sacrifices. - No, you know about loss. Sacrifice is a choice you make. Loss is a choice made for you. - I can't choose to let him die, Roth.

I never got why BFAW has to actually hit targets but CSV is just cone damage, disregarding if a target could actually be hit or not - it makes absolutely no sense.

In terms of Escorts, it's going to be very hard to top the Pilot Ships. And that says a lot since there are some great T6 ones as well as Fleet T5U that are still rock solid. Having flown with Pilot Maneuvers has spoiled the living **** out of me. It's gotten to the point where I was playing with an alt that had a Recluse, and by reflex, I tried to use Pilot Maneuver double-taps ;)

The Pilot Ships have all the key ingredients one demands of an Escort. Unsurpassed combo of speed and agility. Forward heavy weapons loadout. 5 TAC Consoles regardless of variant. Higher Bonus Defense possible than other Escorts. And the Pilot Maneuvers on top of that? A built in ability offering several seconds of Immunity with about 7 seconds to recharge?

    LOL!

Reasons not to buy the defiant (or a t6 kdf bop for that matter)

    - No Romulan equal boffs
    - Too much grind, i cant keep up. I ditched most of my 'alts' in this 'alt friendly' game.
    - Only a few months and it will be outperformed by a new and better ship.

    Cheers Cryptic.

It won't matter to diehard fans; the ones as diehard as the Galaxy fans. They will buy their ship effectiveness be damned because they're fans first and DPS chasers second (or third, if they also RP).

Neither will it matter that any T6 Defiant/Brel/T'Varo are already outclassed by the Pilot ships (on a much more drastic level than the Andromeda was by the Command ships or the Pathfinder was by the Scryer). Not to mention, the Defiant and T'Varo have also been outclassed by the Phantom and Faeht (the former having built-in cloaking and full Intel + Vape build capability, and the latter with super cloak capabilities and similar full Intel + Vape build capability).

That line of thinking can be applied to any ship.

There will always be better and more powerful ships being released than the previous, you're better of not buying any ship ever again.

You clearly don't understand how MMOs function
