glowing consoles?

In many STO missions, players must interact with a console to do something. These consoles are usually glowing and are listed as mission objectives. I found consoles in the NPC Contacts list, but nothing I do makes them glow. How is this achieved?

    Interact with object objective.

    aka a prop. not a npc.

    This particular video is older, so the quality isn't as good as his newer stuff; however, I highly recommend the Kirkfat tutorials.

    Contacts don't glow, only objects. If you use props from the contact list you can talk to them like npcs. Try using similar objects from the details tab.

    For anyone else who might find this post asking the same questions - the glowing affect is automatic when you put an Interact with Object into your story. The objects come from the Details tab in the Map designer.

    They will also glow if you apply any kind of state change trigger to them. If something appears or disappears when that object is interacted with. Even if it only makes itself disappear. They dont have to be in the story timeline to glow.
