I hardly every see anyone using that ship. Given all the TRIBBLE kissing people have been giving Cryptic for a good job with releasing it, you'd think people would be rushing to buy it but I have only ever seen it once in action. Where are the people with these ships?
When the command ships came out (or Intel + guardian), every guy and his cat has one flying around, the whole map was filled with these ships.
I saw one in Delta area in sector space. But it was in regular Galaxy looks. They are out there, but many players was working on their new Delta Recruits. Even myself was working on one just like the rest.
Give them time you will see them around.
USS Casinghead NCC 92047 launched 2350
Fleet Admiral Stowe - Dominion War Vet.
The day they released, they were everywhere. I know they sold quite a few of them, but like someone already said, people are leveling alts for DR event.
It wasn't as prominent as the Presidio, but seemed pretty popular.
You can make it look completely like a Galaxy class or the Monarch. So, you may think you are seeing a Tier 4 but actually it is a T6. I think a lot of people prefer the classic Galaxy look especially with the updates they made to it.
On the flip side, I actually just got my DR toon to Captain. I can use Andromeda parts on the T4 Galaxy.
I am waiting to see if they release a T6 Sov or Ody for my next purchase. I don't expect I will be in a T6 Galaxy forever.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Had an ISA earlier with two of them in it. Sheshar, Odyssey (not sure of the variant), two T6 Galaxy (not sure if Fleet), and me in my wee D'Kyr...heh, would have normally been in my Geneva...Cruisers Online! :P
I think nobody is using the Andromeda skin because if they were buying for the stats they'd fly either a Presidio, an Eclipse, or a Guardian. If people are buying this ship, its because they want a Galaxy.
There's plenty of T6 Galaxy's flying around. PLENTY. It's just most prefer to use the beautiful Galaxy-class skin over the Venture, Monarch (ugh), and even the Andromeda.
If you haven't figured it out yet, canon ships carry a lot of weight, prestige among the playerbase. I still remember years and years ago Feds campaigning hard to get the Nebula and later the Ambassador into STO. I still remember KDF campaigning very hard when STO launched to have the B'Rel BOP for endgame use. At the time, the only endgame BOP was the Hegh'ta. People still clamor for the Constitution-class, Miranda-class. People still point out flaws in the canon ship models such as on the Galaxy-X, D-7/K'T'Inga, etc. Because people care about the canon ships. Again, canon ship designs carry a lot of weight among the players.
Personally, the Galaxy-class skin with the more modern Type 7 appearance is gorgeous.
Using the Andromeda and various other Galaxy ship parts and still experimenting with them.
I just find other ship designs like the Guardian or Presidio simply not visualy satisfying like the Galaxy variants.
EDIT:
I find it a pity that we cannot use Envoy and Celestial parts with T6. I'd love to use the Envoys Saucer or Engineering hull or the Celestials Pylons for example. (or they could give those parts to the guardian )

Overrated ship from a way overrated Star Trek series, enough said...
So if it is an overrated series...why do you even have anything to do with STO? The game has more ties to the TNG/DS9/VOY timeline even though it is years in the future.
They're all over the place, actually. I'm using the Andromeda on one character and the classic Galaxy on a few others. The thing is - even as a huge fan of the ship I haven't had much time to really use them due to playing my KDF delta char. I assume most people are in the same boat during this period.
That and the whole cross-ship trait leveling thing Cryptic did in their "infinite wisdom". I still haven't managed to unlock the Presidio trait before I got the T6 Galaxy, so I'll need to play with that ship and unlock the trait before I settle in my new Galaxy.
I bought one as soon as I could but then went to level a KDF alt for Delta Recruit. I'll be making another Fed alt too after I finish him up. I have it but it just isn't getting all that much use while I participate in the event. Once this event wraps up I'll get back to barrel rolling all over space in my pretty Andromeda.
Clearly you have no visual concept of what a brick looks like.
True, I was just like that at first. My house collapsed three times - man, imagine the look on my face when I found out that my starship-shaped bricks were the reason

Everyone was so horny about the Lt.Commander Tactical station, so they can finally make their Galaxy ship based on the Hero ship from the tv series...

It doesn't matter what Bad Players use. They're still going to be bad. Even in the Pre-DR days where the JHAS was undisputed King of All Ships in STO, terrible players were still terrible in the JHAS. A few even decided to show up in PVP only to be immediately shown that they were still terrible players and the JHAS didn't do anything to change that.
Bought the Galaxy three pack and their Fleet variants. I "knew" the Galaxy explorer sucked with it's two tac consoles and buy it and it 's fleet version anyway. That is how much I loved that ship. Then when the Andromeda came out I bought it and played it a week until I unlocked it's level 5 ship trait at which point I bought the ship again. (fleet variant) I'm the Galaxy Classes' *****.
No doubt I would be far less spendy if I bought ships with actual cash however.
Andromeda is a beautiful skin, imho. One of my favs. But probably 99% of buyers wanted the new Galaxy skin. Because we're Trekkies.
Cryptic not giving us more endgame canon ships with accurate models is intolerable, but improving. It's like a Star Wars game with inaccurate X-Wings restricted to a bad level. It would never happen in SW, but happens in Trek because Trek has split ownership with bickering and a largely ineffectual fanbase.
Looks like a frying pan with a weird handle, keep it...its all yours i prefer something more sleek.
You want more sleek?
Like the Regent, Sovereign (to a certain extend), Odyssey, Star Cruiser, or the command Battlecruisers? All more or less aerodynamic and generally streched ship designs to choose from.
The choice is yours
The Galaxy and its variants are a welcome change in STOs ship deisgn that deviate from that same old pattern and i like it.
Personally i can't see any more egg shaped saucers anymore and i welcome more different shaped Starfleet designs, preferable like the Andromeda class (wide, majestic and just a bit more different than the standard mainstream "fast looking" sci fi designs).
I hope Andromedas artist designs some more similar ship designs like it.
IDIC, my friend.

But with the Delta Recruits promotion I've had little to no time to use it.
