What Happens To: My Fleet XII Gear?

dukhattdukhatt Member Posts: 236 Arc User
Howdy great peeps,

Since the new MKs will be coming out next month,
I wonder what will happen to my current XII fleet gear?

It took me a lot of time AND money to get it all.
All but 2 of my 8 characters have complete fleet gear & reputation gear.

If I would need to upgrade AGAIN, I would be highly frustrated..

Much greetings,
Dukhat

Nothing at the moment - but...

1.) Crafting will offer upgrades in the future. Which/what gear will be applicable is unknown.

2.) New fleet gear is very likely.

Gear upgrades are extremely common with expansions. You will still be viable....but you can be better
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

Every time someone buys fleet gear an accountant gets a Christmas bonus.

Start saving now and prepare to spend more time and resources re-purchasing/upgrading your gear.

For fleet gear if they could put in a upgrade system, like what they used to convert the kits i would be ok with it. You turn in x item and get z new item at a reduced cost of like 80 to 90 percent off the price of buying the new mk 14 item new.

That way you are still paying for the difference in value for the more powerful item, but haven't thrown away the investment in time and money that you put in before.

upgrading the weapons given out in lock boxes is a different story. since odds are they will just make the weapon packs you get out of lock boxes drop higher level versions to match your toons current level.

Which means that you will either have to re open a pile of weapons packs when you hit lvl 60 or rebuy everything.

It will be removed from your inventory and you will not, i repeat NOT, receive any sort of compensation.

    Any other silly questions?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Upgrades will *NOT* be done through Crafting! From what little we know of what's to come, that rumor had been thoroughly and officially debunked.

You got a sauce for that?

I'm still on the wagon that says "Crafting". We know that Rep gear will be upgradable through crafting. What I wouldn't be surprised to see is any existing Fleet gear you own being upgradable, and any purchased after DR launches will be bought at Mk XIV, rather than Mk XII.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.

I believe it was said at the time (unless I've missed something else) that it was only ship upgrades that were definitely not tied to the crafting system.
As for gear upgrades, Ive not seen anything about how it will be upgraded yet.
I have seen and heard things that would suggest (to me anyways) that one might be served well saving the purple stuff for gear upgrades.

I thought that was a 10 pack of Lockbox keys, not Fleet gear. ;)

It means all your Mk XII Vulnerability Locators, that you bought for all weapon types, will have been obsoleted overnight. Oh yeah, 'obsoleted' is politically incorrect nowadays, but they will be obsoleted nonetheless. :(
