It's the only challenging and interesting aspect of this game at lvl cap for a semi-skilled to skilled gamer. Fighting a human player is infinitely more interesting than fighting a Tac Borg Cube or any other boss for that matter because the AI is terrible in this game.
It gives you a reason to dredge through the mindless grind. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Through trial by fire you gain a better understanding of builds, bo powers and how and when to use them.
And most importantly, to me, it's the most fun you can have in STO.

Because this is about positive parts of pvp, let me say things how I would like them to be.
I like balanced teams.
I like when my team does not have a weak link. I like when enemy team does not have weak link.
I like when I have a team. I like when the enemy has team aswell.
I like games that are not prolonged uselessly by all the runners and warpers.
I like when people don't beam out after getting rekt by first assault. I like when enemy team tries to win.
I enjoy when no cons are involved.
I WOULD LIKE if other players ASKED for help instead of COMPLAINING/QQ.
I would like if the pvp had more of the moments where I could enjoy it...
