Guess it is a matter of perspective.
I think they might have wanted to do that with X2, but with the skill revamp being pushed back to S10, I wouldn't expect higher levels until X3.
They would alienate so many folks doing this if they didn't offer some form of upgrade path.
Well, there basically has to be...when it is what passes for content - doing the same couple of things over and over for three months until there is new content!
Feds will have Raiders and KDF will get Star Cruisers. Sound about right? /facepalm

Heh, speaking of 10 minutes, leave the Feds alone for 10 minutes and they'll find a way to defeat themselves.
As someone who's celebrating having their 11th year as an Eve Online subscriber - I remember CCP completely gutting and rebuilding their graphics engine and launching a bunch of new ship classes at this period of Eve Onlines life time, now that's ambition.
Nothing I've seen has convinced me that cryptic aren't just doing a smash and grab with the IP.
I will only expect max level at 60 with lower/higher Tier 6 (Levels 55, 60 repectfully) ships and nothing beyond that.

Cryptic will have to reorganize their entire Rep System when they do decide to increase the cap to level 60, i want to see how will they do it...
The will be more ships... only with alot more Foreign Alien Lock Box ships and 1000 more Federation Warships to make the KDF look like peace lovers of the galaxy.
i hope this game does last 10 more years, but i think that Cryptic alienated the STO fanbase even more especially PvP players, i know alot of ppl most of PvP'er drop out of STO in favor for other games mostly due to the lack of PvP content or i will say none at all.
more like THE CENTURY OF FEDERATION VICTORY as long Captain Geko is at the helm, i'm not gonna say what Capt Geko says what he's gonna do to the KDF Faction or Rom Subfaction, for the past years he actions speaks louder than words which the Federation faction having more ships than both the KDF and Romulan factions combined and the Romulans have almost just near amount of Tier 5 ships to the KDF and the Romulans faction been out for 1 year while the Klingon 3 years.
You're right Feds will have Raiders... KDF um, have u learn any thing from the KDF/Fed Lock Box Consoles exchange?... we will get nothing in return, not even a lowly Star Cruiser
this is why anyone excited for a level cap raise is a moron. congratulations, all the gear you have ground all these years is now vender trash!
yep, and either it will take like 1 day to cap again making it pointless or it will take a while and people will rage.
I'm cautious about the mk XII UR crafting gear. Although it's awesome, if they raise the cap and make MK XIII and XIV gear, it will be rendered garbage.

In all other mmos you can upgrade the best gear to the next best so you never trash your hard earned shets.This is sto....so that won't work.
Hrmmm, I have memories of games where with a level cap increase...greens of +1 level were better than purples of the previous level when expansions hit. That generally speaking, you'd have replaced all your grind gear within the first 2-3 levels into the new level cap from vendor trash that was better...
Today in Ker'rat many have been nucleari... subjugat... kille... captur... vapo... dealt with swiftly to guarantee security in the sector. Starfleet ships may enter at will to help fight the Borg threat. Rogue KDF meat... ahem ships shouldn't be an issue for now.
Stay tuned until we plan the destruction of Qo'n... er, counter attack to the Collective.
We got a Fed console??? I did not know that Geko gave any Fed items to the KDF...
I think we already got a copy of a super uber Fed Cruiser, a Copy n Paste Avenger :O
Well we do have our own Fed like Cruisers... Gorn and Orion Cruisers which they're all still NPC ships at this moment, i'm sure our players can handle them better if made playable than Feds using their Escorts ^_^
