Other online games like Jade Dynasty and Voyage Century Online has ways to gain credits easily or
leveling up other than doing quests. I think the reason for the forum is to help the creators in cases like
this for input in how to better the game or good suggestions. Or if they overlooked something.
I'm thinking in this case, being able to extract various minerals from asteroids, recycle floating wreckage debri and exchange downed enemy weapons, devices, etc. would be a good way to gain credits.
Another is there should be various means at the Sol earthbase to earn credits in the game. I don't like cause I can't sell any available items in inventory or off my characters for credits. Some things turned
in for credits that would be high importance (advance ancient artifact, enemy secret transmissions, unknown alien crystals, etc.) could be used as bonus points for player to be rewarded, from three
choices. Like honor or material bonus. Another high importance is towing abandon/damaged spaceships
back to nearest starbase or earth space station.

Your suggestion is much too complex, I'm afraid. It's overkill.

It's really easy to make Energy Credits ingame. Too bad you can't really buy good stuff with it though because of the 10 000 000 EC limit on Silver accounts. All the good stuff sells for more than that.

If you can't sell any available items in your inventory, it's only because you're unaware that there are vendors in major starbases in most sectors that will buy your stuff from you at 1/2 its listed EC value. Sol Earth Spacedock's vendors are in the section beside the Club. You click to requisition equipment and you will see there is a "Sell" tab above the list of items. If you choose it, you will see that the list of available merchandise will now be replaced by a list of your own sellable inventory items. Enjoy.

Trojan on their website, is that not what antivirus is for.

I 've discussed this with people on other forums and they pay with paypal, SAFE.

They meet with the gold seller in game and do straight forward trade SAFE.

For you to make this post, the SAFE options must be well used right now I'm guessing. When fleet starbases come this will all be a lot more tempting and no doubt Cryptic have considered that.

Why don't hackers do something good for once and hack these websites plus the personal computers of their staff/owners.

Hang on. I know this is a game and all, but didn't Captain Picard once say, "Money doesn't exist in the twenty-fourth century. We work to better ourselves"? I know this probably doesn't apply to the Klingon and Romulan empires, but still. What happened in the 25th century to change that statement?

    Ok

1: Necromancer: Leave the dead alone

2: Yes he said that, but he was talking about earth... Not the entire universe... and not even every federation member planet (Bank of bolius).
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

In the future, I will be buying ZEN, in a effort to
improve and upgrade the starships I have acquired since I started running STO.

I will only deal with PERFECT WORLD, when I buy the ZEN, I wish to buy. I just need to know, exactly HOW MUCH ZEN, is someone allowed to buy in a 24 hour period?

I do not want, or intend to do anything but have the necessary means, and tools, to make
the proper upgrades, to equip my ships and their crews to be able to carry out the missions that come their way.

Only one real cure and, it isn't going to happen, it costs too much. 24/7 GM's online and, enough for them to ban every bot and gold seller the moment one is reported even once. As in Permaban that IP, eventually they run out of IPs and proxies. Of course that means a few honest players get banned when their IP happens to be used by scammers but, that's the breaks.

The alternative is to make the ban automated as soon as ONE spam/bot report comes in for that account but, that can easily be abused. Someone doesn't like you, they report you falsely, you're banned.

Either we live with the trash or risk getting banned ourselves with false reports. Only live GMs can clear them out, they can go look and see if the report was accurate.

Resurrecting a dead thread from 2010: I have a strong opinion about the OP's thread. Right now, October 2019, the T6 lockbox ship "Amarie-class Smuggler's Heavy Escort" sells on the exchange for 1.5 billion. As in energy credits. Ignoring the fact that few people will ever make 1,500,000,000 billion dollars in real life, this is highway robbery ingame. But you warn us about not buying EC, dil, and Zen instead of allowing us a means to buy those things ingame. Or regulating the runaway prices in the exchange. What hypocrisy!

A lot has changed in the 9 years hence, Cryptic. You will excuse me if I do look to an external website to buy EC in order to get the ships and equipment that I want. The reviews on just one of those sites indicate that I am not the first person to do so. Not only are you behind the curve, you are clueless. Your treatment of the Foundry and its authors made that quite clear.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect. But actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey ... stuff. --the Doctor, "Blink"

    1) you can throw money at the problem to buy it if you so wish in a LEGAL and SAFE manner by buying zen, use that zen for master keys and selling them on the exchange. Which will be around 300 bucks. Give or take based around the exchange.

    2) you can churn the marketplace and make money. Like STUPID amounts of it. Yes this takes time...but 1.5 bil should be doable after you get a few million EC seed money in about a year or so. That's about how long it took me to collect 2 billion EC before I realized I actually don't need to do it as I don't really have stuff on the exchange I want.

Just because YOU are a moron who can't figure out how to get EC doesn't mean there is a problem. Just a problem for YOU. But hey, wanna risk getting ripped off because you don't wanna learn? Go for it. Have fun.

    Yeah, pretty much this.

Generating EC isn't that hard, not at all. I am just mediocre at generating EC, I know players that can buy and sell me 3 times over but I can generate that much EC in about 6 months if I'm just doing it casually. I could probably shave about a month off if I was just laser focused on EC.

If you want to use an external site and risk compromising your credit card info and getting an account ban, knock yourself out. If however, you decide to calm down and ask for help like a rational person we can certainly try to help you.

    first /necro.

second, buying from gold sellers is against ToS and can get you banned. myself and others will also go out of our way to catch gold sellers and those dealing with them so I advise against it.
