Because CRYTPIC is making STEAM + Atari + others REDOWNLOAD the entire game, and all the patches, at a very slow rate.

Cause you see, the internet is not this thing that you can dump something on. No! The internet is a series of TUBES!

Clearly we need a bigger tube.

Well one thing it isn't Cryptic making it download slow - it's Steam continually redownloading 10gb for every Steam customer - it's damn near like a deliberate attack or something :p
I would hope someone at Cryptic is on the phone to the Steam people asking them politely.... WTF ! or words to that effect...

It's appreciated, I hope we have something in a prominent place to let folks know what to do. This really affects those of us with strict bandwidth caps.

Wait, we have to re-download the client? I thought they just patched the OB to full client? It would make sense....

Its almost like this thread exists because that's the way it was suppose to work and isn't in some cases. If only there was a dev who said they were looking into why its not working that way. Oh well. Guess they did it this way on purpose.

You have discovered the TRUTH! Even as we speak, Cryptic goons are holding guns to the heads of poor Steam employees, forcing them to manually slow downloads down! It's all part of their plot to drive people's blood pressure up so they can make a profit off the bloodpressure meds they've secretly been stockpiling....

Is there any hope from you guys on the Steam issue or is that just out of your realm of influence?

If so, can your tech guys maybe give some advice on whats going on and possible workarounds?
