Disconnection to login screen problem

Whenever i try to log in, i get to "Retrieving list of maps" then the game seems to hang a long time before rebooting me to the log in screen.

*edit* and when it does get past that, it comes up with "Server not responding" then disconnects from the server trying to load into the newbie area.
