changing shards bug?

I know that in Cryptics other mmo Champions online you can change from one shard to another. (especially when it's over crowded with 200+ people doing the same mission you are)
I noticed today that this feature is not avaible in STO...
Well like so many others out there I got locked into a shard after completing the mission (repeatlly) and everytime I tried to get out I would get kicked back to the login screen.
Really If I had been able to change shards when this started today I would have gotten further than what I did.
Hopefully cryptic will enable this feature before release day.
The getting stuck on a shard is the bug. And the change instance is the solution for it, at least I would think so.
