Since i've now found another bug with protected doffs i thought i'd repost this thread more objectively, updated, and with more content. previously i was just salty i'd lost 125m worth and essentially blamed dev oversight for it.
ISSUES: doffs in overflow can be protected, but there is no way to turn the protection system off when you claim them to inventory
doffs that are stuck protected should not be able to do anything but can still do R&D.

SOLUTIONS: doffs should be clickable to turn off protected status in inventory
doffs that are set to protected should not be able to do anything
