    We don't know if they have made changes to it yet. Look what they did for Sompek.

    Better to store up tokens in advance for each time it rears its ugly head and boycott the place so the bums on seats numbers send the message that it's not acceptable rather than the store sales promoting the idea that bad design to make money is a good thing.

    No one is saying this or suggesting this. The buyout option was implemented for players who cannot participate in the events as much as other players, but still have a chance of receiving the rewards. That some choose to use the buyout to skip participating in some events entirely is a choice made by those individuals, but it was not intended for that purpose.

    People also thought/think that it was a cheaper way of getting their hands on an Ultimate Upgrade Token as well.

    If Spocks ship is in the winter event i get to say goodbye to it, I cannot handle the race at all period and have gone without ships this year being the 4th year i havent been able to get the free ship. Likely never will till the difficulty in the event is brought down to something manageable.

    I felt that frustration the first time the winter event was on console, but did not particular like the look of the Breen ship that year ... so no biggie. After that I looked for tips on how to do the race and have had no problem afterwards, each time scoring the ship in short order. Basically run like hell, learn how to slide into those corners and if you go astray, just have your character jump up and land ... pausing for a second, then rinse and repeat. You will always stay ahead of the race generated opponent and win.

    They already state that there will be Fel'kri ship to unlock on Winter Event, so that's what will be for race reward.
    That Spock ship will propably be from some Lockbox, or R&D promotion - or even just fly it in some mission, like that "Step between stars"
    Take note - there is statement "Command Spock Jellyfish Ship" and "Command Altamid Drones" there is nothing about actually getting the ship/drones to. But propably there will be some chance to get it.
    And about that Winter race - I personally found that the jumping method does not work best for me on PC - because if I keep holding directional key when jumping, I actually jump in that direction. Actually best for me was full sprint and rolling all the corners - just needed to set a separate, easy to use (left Alt for me) hotkey for roll in settings.

    Ok, once more, because my post got "lost in edit":
    The Roadmap states, that we will unlock Fel'kri ship on Winter event, so that will be the reward for Winter race.
    It also states "Comman Altamid Drones" and "Command Spock Jellyfish Ship" - so at best it will propably only a Lockbox or even R&D promotion prize. At worst - it will be only for a mission, like the "Step between stars" mission.

    Also about the race itself: personally I can't do it with the jumping method, because if I keep pressing the directional key when jumping, I will jump in that direction, so thats a no for stoping. What works best for me on PC is going full sprint, then roll on every corner (and engage full sprint after each roll - the sprint will reset after a roll). I needed to setup a separate, easy to use hotkey for a Roll - I use Left Alt key. From the time when I started using this, I loose only, when a lag gets me.

    The Fek ship is definitely something I am interested in. I would have liked to have seen some more Breen ships though, including special Winter Event Breen BO's added as rewards. We still don't have Breen Engineering or Breen Science officers and the Tactical one most new players haven't had a chance to get yet. I was lucky enough to have a Breen in the mail that I managed to claim on my Jem toon, thankfully. STO NEEDS MOAR BREEN! :D

    I do the same thing in addition to pushing hard into the inside of the turn (the snow on the edge of the track has slightly more traction than the ice). I use mouse button 4 for roll, which is the one I use anyway to roll in combat so it works with muscle memory for me.

    Any word yet on which Fek'iri ship it will be?

    The Roadmap shows the Winter Event.

    The Grand Prize for the Winter Event is the Fel'kri ship, whatever that may be.

    How do you earn the Grand Prize?

    By doing and winning the 'Fastest Game on Ice' 25 times on seperate days.

    How do you participate in 'Fastest Game on Ice'?

    By successfully skating the track, beating the NPC, if there is one.

    Ipso facto, it is.

    @claudiusdk *Engle class

    @robert#4620 T6 Constitution is unlikely.

    @lucho80 What're you talking about? We had a roadmap just last year.

    Missed that one, and even that came after at least 6 years from the previous one because the devs didn't like the comments left after not delivering features they talked about.

    I'm keeping hope alive for that T6 Oberth and Constellation. I'm holding my free T6 ship token until then. My monthly zen should be built up enough to get the other I'll need too if they both come up.

    I'm interested to see where the story goes from here. Still really missing the Foundry to fill that void.

    Makes me wonder if the reason for commanding romulan ships is a special ship coming that is the Klingon-Romulan Alliance D7 but infact a new Alliance ship based on the current Alliance. I can see the super talented artists that have given us Cryptic made in the past that could make something that looks klingon and romulan as a D7 but also moving parts to make it be able to move like a simitars parts do but also multi vector. That would be a good challenge to test their abilities in ship design :)

    Also I do appreciate how we got a discovery bird of prey but the only thing I've ranted about over the past decade that isn't in the game now is the Heavy Hegh'ta or newer version of since there has never really been even a T5 version of one much less anything T6. Also a archon/sovy phase cloak setup that does not involve another company trying to sell off knock off star trek merchandise just to get something like that. Also that one guy who wants a T6 Nova has been waiting a very very very long time for that.

    Also for a heavy raider for bird of prey they could even use gecko's idea he had that time about an armor slot. Pave a road of raider type that is a heavy raider but uses armor instead of a shield. In which they could release another defiant model that is a raider instead of escort that acts more so like it did in DS9 series. Something similar in design but heavy raiders using different equipment where per say polarize hull would be more beneficial than emergency power to shields would be one method.

    One last thing in regards to romulan ships being used by any faction. I hope this is a direction from the EP of ending faction barriers for good. Some may not see this step as productive or breaking canon or whatever but its great for the game. Imagine no longer needing the KDFdefera channel or even not needing these special channels at all. So that you can do global messages on basis for needing people at battlezones and then having the ability to coordinate just in the map you are in and not cluttered with multiple maps talking when you just need to read messages for the map you are in. Overall though as I see it the direction of the game is becoming more transparent and there isn't really anyone who has any talking points on debating the reasons for removal of some content because like the exploration system the foundry was based on content from over 10 seasons ago and only used by a small fraction of players which some like myself tried to support them but in the end its resources that could go into other things that are more fun to do and that we may not know about yet. So having someone who hasn't been with the company and no attachments to the game itself was a great move for Cryptic. Also depending on what the "reveal" from gw2 is coming out soon if its just a bunch more TRIBBLE I'll probably just switch back to sto for my main game again(gw2 is in that sto's version of season 6 and DR combined right now).

    could you resize the tos phasers (mk1, mk2) to make them accurate, currently these 2 weapons are too large. And could you add also for the TOS characters the spock's medical tricorder (chest gear). thx

    I wonder what else wasn't mentioned on the road map that they are planning to add into the game this year. With the giving romulan ships to feds and kdfs and jems. I wonder how the romulans feel about all this. Giving faction wide access to romulan excusive ships wasn't on the road map from what I understand. *Shrugs*

    One complaint I see repeatedly across all the major social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Reddit) is that this diminishes the Romulan faction, since they do not have much that makes them unique anymore, and that this will spell the death of the Republic as a faction.

    Someone posted this on twitter. I thought it was interesting.
    Trek Showrunners: Picard show is full of Romulan ships, no Fed ships at all
    STO Devs: um.. our fed captains won't like having no ships for a whole year
    STO Intern: Let them fly Romulan ships. Problem solved!
    STO Devs: great idea! now go back to making the coffee...

    While I don't think this might be the whole reason but I think it could be part of the reason. Here is why, if the Picard show has a mostly out of starfleet more romulan focused storyline. Involving Romulan this and romulan that along with a borg angle. If the show goes this route while being more personally focused with the characters of the storyline. The show itself would then be one of the first major shows not to have much of a starfleet focus but a major romulan focus to it in terms of the storyline itself. Which is great for fleshing out the romulans not so in doing more Federation Starfleet content or Klingon Kdf content.

    This will likely mean they will have new romulan ships to the mix as for sure there would be new romulan ship designs for the show but not many starfleet designs because its not a starfleet focused show and I doubt much if any klingon ships at all within the shows first season. Given if it has less focus on starfleet and more romulan focus in terms of ships. That would mean for the first time they might have to put on hold new starfleet content to do the picard romulan content and have to do to them what they did to the romulans when they did the discovery stuff if that is what they are doing now with their storyline and ship making model. By opening up ships to the other factions. They can avoid leaving out the federation faction in terms of picard content.

    In a way I can see how Romulan faction players can be upset about this if it was the reason for this decision because one. Its kinda hypocritical as the romulan faction got left out for the discovery stuff in terms of ships and yet they are unwilling to leave out feds for the Romulan stuff. I think the reason why they wouldn't be willing to do this to where the federation gets left out for a change is because a lot of the player base is starfleet. I doubt they would leave out their majority when it comes to a star trek show. Another reason people think they are doing this is because of money and that is also another possibility a role in this along with other factors. Could be they saw the unfairness of romulans being able to use all their allies ships and not have to give ships in return for gaining all those ships. Which could be another reason why they are doing it. *Shrugs* I think we might learn more with the next livestream or ten forward weekly so it might be worth watching to finding out the answer as to why its being done. I hope someone asks that question.

    Even though it's pretty much nobody's favorite except mine it seems, this year is the 40th anniversary of The Motion Picture. I know the costumes are available, but is there any chance of other TMP related content? I'd love a TMP Mark II Phaser. Maybe playable Deltans? Using their pheromones to stun and disable could lead to some interesting gameplay possibilities. (Admiral: "What happened to that Klingon patrol?" Captain: "Yeah, Drav sneezed during the fight and the patrol just got way too horny to continue. There's some really weird things going on in the brig right now.")

    Sorry. Anyway, more than probably almost any other Trek film, TMP was just lousy with neat alien designs. I'd love to see some of them utilized.

    The interesting thing WRT "Star Trek: Picard" is that they will probably show some Federation ships; BUT they may be ships Cryptic already has in the game today - so yeah, there may not be more than one new design (IE Whatever Picard and Co. are flying themselves in the series - which could be Federation, Romulan, (possibly Borg inspired in some respects too); or some kind of Fed/Rom/Borg hybrid design.)

    To burst everyone's bubble when it says command the Jellyfish and drones it will be similar to when we got to command the Enterprise-F mission and the ships we have been waiting for be like the T6 Nova.
    This is incorrect.

    Ambassador Kael mentioned on his twitter that the use of the word "command" means get the ship as something you can own/fly around like any other ship in the game, and that it wasn't just as "fly it for a mission" thing.

    so when we got to "command" the Enterprise-F did we get it no we got to test the new reputation weapons e.g the counter command torpedo so It's more likely we will be testing some new weapons.

    Not agreeing with someone doesn't give you the right to be an TRIBBLE.

    Ci sono tre tipi di giocatori:
    - quelli a cui non va mai bene niente... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

    Ai giocatori dei primi due tipi, gratis in omaggio un bello specchio lucente su cui arrampicarsi. E una mazzata in testa per la loro poca intelligenza e compassione verso gli altri giocatori che non la pensano come loro.
    Agli appartenenti al terzo tipo, invece, dico grazie. Anche se non sempre si riesce a mantenere la calma, siete quelli per cui vale la pena incazzarsi.

    I wonder, is the mini-Crossfield featured in the new Episode the upcoming Anniversary ship?
