What consoles or anything else boost electrical damage in space ?

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Which Electrical thing are you looking to boost? The default Experimental Weapon for older escorts is boosting by most Skills that boost energy weapons. If it's the Mogai console, it's boosted by EPG of all things (not enough to make it really worthwhile, even on a 400 EPG Sci ship).

You might also try generic energy weapons boosts like the Prior's World console or the Iconian Rep console, though I'm not positive those affect either of the above and/or what you're looking for a boost for.

Well, that's what I wanted to know: does EPG count towards boosting it and does a generic energy weapons-booster console count also for electrical ?

So..Is the Item your wanting boosted a Weapon (goes in a console slot) if it is ..Typically not boosted by EPG.
If it is a Console...Chances are high that it IS boosted by EPG.

List is not exhaustive but you get the idea for that which is boosted by EPG.

It depends on which thing is making Electrical damage.

Examples I just checked on, mostly gear the given character had access to:
    Isometric Charge:
    EPG: Yes
    Directed Energy Damage(Priors World console):No

    Experimental Hyperexcited Ion Stream Projector:
    EPG: No
Directed Energy Damage (Priors World console and DPRM(passive) ):No
All Weapon damage (Sustained Radiant Field): Yes

About the only thing equally convoluted is Proton damage. :s

True, but for proton there are consoles specifically boosting that, so a proto-pol build is relatively easy to accomplish. For electrical, there are many things that can be used like Energy Discharge Array, Heavy Particle Focuser Array (Husnock), Ionized Particle Beam (Mogai), Overload Supplemental Subsystems, Sabotage Probe, Sensor Burnout and each seems to have different basis.

I'm specially interested in how Experimental Hyperexcited Ion Stream Projector behaves. If it's not boosted by all energy damage consoles that's kinda bad.

As far as I know no weapon that's slotted in the "experimental weapon" slot is boosted by consoles, it's funtion of the equipment slot in question not of the weapons themselves.

    Thats what Ive seen

Regarding the consoles with electric damage..Who boosts them is in the "more info" when you right click at the bottom of the description when in game.

An accurate assessment, as it's one of the lowest output Experimental Weapons. If you're looking for a better Experimental Weapon the one on the Risian Escort from the Summer Event looks pretty decent, as it has a Haste boost (fires faster) with Engine power. It doesn't scale with most damage output consoles still, as like spiritborn said above, the devs don't want stuff that goes into the Experimental Weapon slots to be easily buffable by consoles.

The Experimental Weapons slot came out of the devs finding that Escorts had fallen behind Battlecruisers and Dreadnoughts, and it was determined those other ship-types having more weapons slots was the root reason. So, they decided to add a weapon slot to escorts, destroyers and raiders, however, they didn't want things potentially going out of control with damage buffs, and so made Experimental Weapons not easily buffable.

Understandable, just as Sci ships got secondary deflectors. Still, I would like in the future to build a purely experimental ship with electrical and maybe radiation damage as primary focus so I'm in the information gathering research stage at this point.
