I don't mind it but it's too easy to Rambo it with top tier endgame gear

I'm really enjoying this so far as I like both space and ground. The devs did a great job on the map. The routing took a few runs to get used to but that's par for the course on any new map. Yes there are a few tree leafs in the way of your view at times lol.

Difficulty seems reasonable for a wide range of players, time gating isn't an issue, and getting the daily bonus with rep marks seems generous without any cool down.

Bottom line: am having some fun whilst collecting tokens for this project as well as future and past projects while giving both senior and junior toons a jog in in the great outdoors which is a refreshing change from being in an underground complex or the darkness of space

Hehe yep, the layout on the map is mega confusing. Brilliant I suggested a team split on the map the other day and had @seaofsorrows follow me around in circles for pretty much nothing. Hope he didn't include that in his after action report to Starfleet. :D

The Admiralty board knows how much you like your Romulan Ale. They said it was my fault for trusting you in the first place..

I had no argument to counter that logic.

Lol, worst part is Kyle babbled something about random locations last time but I did not listen as I made it a strict policy never to listen to him.

What gives, I have a new 100% fail save stagey for today on Pahvo. I just need to you trust me on it one more time. We simply follow Ezria. >:)

      I quite enjoy it.
The map looks spectacular and has a nice feel to it; lots of different routes to follow and find your way around.

There's not really any timegates as such because the first stage does actually have a specific mechanic working to clear the crystals so you can shorten that period if you're good enough. The more damage you can put out the less the healing crystals get destroyed and thus the faster the cleansing happens.
I'm fairly sure a good coordinated ground team could smoke this stage in short order.

The last stage is not too challenging I found as with 5 players curbstomping the poor terrans in one place it's a pretty fast murderfest.

Before it gets swapped over to a regular TFO they need to go through the map and reduce the amount of junk on the ground that prevents you running from a to b without turning it into a steeplechase.

ON this note...I would like to add:

With the Anniversary Event over...I was able to get back to my Ferengi to finish Illusion of Communication, which is the mission this TFO is based off of.

Not only do you get "stuck" on the plants on the ground, it prevents the players from seeing the MINES the Terrans are using. The leaves were covering up where the MINES were spawning.

They are nice looking but not practical for battle areas....well, unless you are Terran. LOL!

No true AFKers for the whole TFO, yet. A few that die pretty often, and can't make much progress on anything, but some people just don't adapt to new scenarios, or are just not very good at the ground game. As such, I would see this:

Timer are annoying and the whole mission is even more boring then battle of the binary stars. I like to be able to set the pace with my team and not just run down timers. It wont be long before this becomes yet another afk event mission.
      Forget it.
and tell the poster to actually try it for themselves, rather than listen to forum prognosticators. I've personally found their crystal balls to be quite cloudy very often. Some will probably AFK. Some always do in any event where the special reward is guaranteed, such as any of these 3 week event queues, but it really doesn't appear to be catching on here.
      No thanks. Watched the videos.
I would be lost or stuck on a rock...not AFK.
Lost is hard because it points at where to go all the time.

stuck on a rock is a minor inconvenience that is usually fixed by jumping over the rock.

Actually, the more often I play it, the more I like it. I haven't seen this much conversation and cooperation between players in TFOs in a while (unless we're talking fleet or other premades). Heck, even quite a lot of "gg". Probably because nobody can really solo it (even the best player can get max 2 of the crystal series), because even Mr. Two-DPS-on-a-good-day can contribute by taking care of crystal placement, because ground performance doesn't differ as madly as space performance. Also, the whole mission feels way shorter than some that actually take 5-8 minutes less, and effort matters, since you can shave off time.

I'll probably still be exhausted in two weeks by doing this on multiple alts, but right now I am greatly enjoying it :) Kudos

I love that it is in at least part performance based. IE: how well you do influences how long the mission takes.

Actually, once you finished a line, it often is the quickest way to get to another place and help your team. Granted, that is the only time I can think of but it's not never.

Could simply have been an f-less option after the third crystal in a group is cleared.

Why would they think folk might clear one or two and then stop to go somewhere else rather than complete the objective?

Yup, just had that, 3-2 split, 3 team overpowered, 2 team struggled, so I switched over. A minor interaction would be sufficient though.

Graphics glitch on Pavho where the plants stretch out.... @theneckercube got a good vid of it on his thread.

If you want to add in your observations about it over there.

Saw that a lot in one of my runs today.

Seemed to be tied into someone triggering an explosive ability of some kind but the range was massive as I could see it around me when the focal point of the wave was on another crystal path entirely. Plants all wave out from player at the centre then back in until the next time.

The warp-in plants appear to be a result of a Miracle Worker specialty skill. This can likely be solved temporarily by not using the Miracle Worker specialty while on Pahvo.

Tonight I ran it again on my Discovery Character and this time when I ported in everyone was already off into the TFO. It was the worst run I ever had. Have been getting 156 Marks (130+26 Marks Bonus from Accelerators). Tonight with the additional 50% from the Bonus Weekend I only got 147 instead of what could have been 193.

One guy seemed to like to stay dead. There were also some times when the Crystal perimeter 'fence' went down in one area and people seemed to not be able to grasp that you needed to grow another Crystal to recomplete the surrounding field.

I believe we only got two Crystal Clusters fully cleared and did not kill at least one of the Bosses.

I run MW, but seldom use the skill. I have noticed the plant warp effect on things like the Elachi blast turret and such.

That transport F is really causing me problems today. So I transport to the middle press F to close the chatthat pops up like you would in every other part of the game and the transport popes up causing me to beam in a 2nd time after I had already transported to the middle. I have lost count of how many times I have double transported.

Worse than above I was clearing a lane planting a crystal while in red alert and while pressing F to plant the crystal the transport to middle popped up and disrupted me clearing the area. It beamed me out before the area was clear. It wasn’t the timer either the transport F thing popped up early before we had finished. This has only happened in 1 run. All my other runs where ok.

I have programmed my Mouse's 'Scroll Press' Key to be the 'F' Key. It works as that across all games. If the dialog button has focus a single click will do it. If not (like when the Transport to Spire is to the side or its a multiple select) the first click will give the selection focus and the second click will initiate. So I don't transport unless I want to.

Well, Jesse Heinig commented in last week's live stream that the Transport button isn't working right. So it might get fixed thurs.

The mission has some positive points and some negative.
I believe that if the negative are fixed it could become an interesting mission to keep in the TFO list.

Usually people start with the negative:
      - IMHO it's a bit story weak
      - the map is not very smooth, the rocks that are all around make the characters get stuck, even if the rock is small
      - as many have said... the transport to spire is annoying and a source of problem, it should appear only after the last crystal
      - Bosses are jokes! Usually they last less that 30 seconds with my build, poor terrans! (some people with poor build complained that they last too much, LOL, don't listen to them)

      Positive:
      - well, I enjoy it, I usually cover a stream alone and alone it's challenging, there are multiple enemies that are spread and are difficult to group and bombard with AOE
      - it's interesting that you need to take care also of the crystals
      - the colors of the map and the general look it's amazing! Well done Art specialists!

If it will become a standard ground map and IF it will pay well in therm of Marks I will run it, regularly.
    • ltminnsltminns Member Posts: 12,569 Arc User
The Mark payout will be the same for Normal, but there will be a 30 Minute Cooldown for rerunning it after it ceases to be the Featured TFO.

Let us know your feedback on the new Pahvo TFO here!

      I'm not a ST:D fan, that's strike one.

The ground mission seems like any other ground mission, kill group of enemies then move on to the next. Strike two.

Really nothing new or fresh to the game, this feels just like the rest of the AOD content: rushed out of the door. Strike three and I am out.

      I'll give this mission a C-.

It's nice but nothing groundbreaking. As an engineer, I just bring along as many drones as possible.
