Automatic end of omega molecule minigame

I hadn't seen this bug in a few years, but the omega molecule minigame has started automatically ending at seemingly random intervals. Sometimes it immediately stops before even the first line of molecules appear, other times it ends after several hundred points.

    But even if it stops right away it is marked as completed.
