Can't Login, get Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out

I'm trying to play STO and I keep getting "Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out" on the sign-in pop-up. I tried with and without Arc. I even tried to log into Champions and no luck there either.

I'm trying to get into STO to do my daily missions for the Scout ship and this is stopping me from playing.
Is the account server down for some reason?
Is anyone else having a problem?

    Yup, got back from work and can't login. "Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out".

    I am having the same issue. I am able to log into Arc, but then I also get that message when I try to play the game. I am on my last day I need to complete the missions for the scout ship as well.

    I got on it for 15 minutes and it kicked me off. :( bad day in STO land.

    Finally .. I'm on, but this still doesn't fix the "Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out" that was happening to all of us. This still needs to be looked at because this is still a problem....

    Hopefully I can stay connected long enough to get my dailys done ....

    Are the servers down again?

    Can you guys post your ISP as well as what country or state you're from? Also want to know if you guys are going in through steam, through arc, or just pulling up the stand alone launcher and going in that way.

    These bits of info will help tell us if perhaps it's a regional problem, certain ISP(s), or if something else is up.
